Legal Action to get slander off this Forum

I will take legal action to get slander off of this post. Your computer can be traced and I am mad enough to do it. Do not post crap unless you want to have action taken against you.

I agree and understand your frustration, as there were at one time 4 threads with people bashing me. I also think that nobody is blameless. I'm sure I did somethin that pissed someone off, and though slandering my name online was going WAY too far and overreacing, I can't let that rule my life. Who are you?

The best way to get it off is to ignore it. Each time you comment to these people you add fuel to their fire. The problem with legal action is that you must who it is and that what they are saying has caused you harm. Then the other problem comes with the state in which the forum originates and what their laws are. So, it's almost impossible to follow through. Sorry.

It'd be much easier to ignore if they weren't throwing slander about me into almost every thread I post in. I like talking to people on threads, I like discussing things and debating. I don't even mind taking up for others when its needed. I DO mind when someone throws things out there about me that not only aren't true, but cross the line from mean to attempts at public humiliation.

Try posting anoymously. On Newport's forum it doesn't seem to matter whether you're being negative or positive, someone's going to attack you. I've looked at other cities and they seem to have better things to do than attack people. They're bullies and the best thing to do with bullies is ignore them, because you can't reason with stupidity.

Sadly unlike them I'm not afraid to say who I am if I have something to say about any subject. People who talk about me SAY they know me, but I've yet to see anyone have enough balls to say how and who they are.

I'm sure this site tracks post by IP Addresses... These addresses ushally don't change unless your on dail up or your ISP has a dynamic IP addressing sceme. I could see where it's possible to get in to some shit...

I see it as almost impossible. Proving where it came from and who it came from. It's only court worthy if someone was hurt, such as lost a job, customers, etc. If it is someone's opinion, it's not punishable. If it is true, it's not punishable.

This happens in every little town. Its going on everywhere. If you think you are going to stop the slander thats going and idiots from talking trash on poeple; I wish you all the luck in the world. Its going on in Batesville, Searcy , Jonesboro, Tuckerman, Little Rock, etc.........Thousands of little towns all over the United States. I've been to this site twice and couldn't believe stuped crap that i've read. Reading the stupid garbage on this site makes you kinda want to come back and read more. Kinda like TMZ the gossip and to the stars. I'm not trying to be negative but you don't have a chance. Good Luck.

It would not be slander, it would be libel. You'd be better off ignoring people on here if it bothers you that bad. If they know they are getting to you, it will only get worse.

Its not impossible each internet connection that goes into a persons computer has a specific number or isp if you will. And yea it is punishable it is called a "tort". And any attack on character will stand in a court of law...maybe not newport court but sometimes you just have to go higher -- i guess it all depends on just how much it means to you.

Remember the lady that got in trouble for creating a myspace account and caused the lil girl to commit suicide? Or how about the lady that got into trouble for illegal downloads of music? So yes, it is very possible to track and anyone can do it in there own home if they know a little about computers (and google-wink) smile.

BUT.....you have to prove WHO was typing the messages at the end of the IP address. Without actually seeing them type the messages, you do not have a case.

They can track all the way to their actual home, and thats when you go find out who it is. The law can and will go right to a house and find out. I'm sure in the cases where people slandered me it'd be pretty obvious who it was based on who knew me in wherever they came up with.

But Jayme, it is still circumstancial evidence. Its like, "you probably did it because you know her". "Probably" doesnt get it. Sorry.
