Why is an oversized load leaving before daylight. That is the law. Also why were the flaggers not blocking 30 if he was going to pull out and block the whole road. This is my cousin. His kids who are around 18 and 20 have lost their father, just because someone had to get an early start to their day. Shame on YOU!!!!

My cousin Tim was also in the accident, with multiple broken bones. He is in the trama unit. I hope that he pulls through without major problems. We love you Tim and are praying for you.

I sympathize with your loss but what everyone failes to realize is if the driver was obeying the 45mph when approaching the truck stop which is clearly posted, also that many flashing strobe lights cannot be avoided, so there was imdication of some type of hazard on the road. Sorry there was loss of life, and being a father of 9 I understand, the truth will come out but don't disrespect the drivers who bring your clothes, food, and even the supplies that service your town. Best wishes, God Bless your families and my prayers are with u in this tragic time.

Also this truck was totally blocking the west bound lanes and part of the East bound. He was turning east. My cousins were west bound. Flag trucks where on the east bound side and still at the truck stop. so dont tell me that, that helps.
PS I love truckers who obey the law!!!!!!

I heard there was fog in the area yesterday morning...regardless. The number one concern when moving a load that large predawn in foggy conditions (or not) across a highway is public safety. The moving company FAILED miserably to insure the safety of other drivers while blocking the highway and should be sued and fined. A few flashing yellow lights on your vehicle is not sufficient when blocking a major road under any condition. I am so sorry for your loss....I graduated with Steve and played ball with him....what a good person.

Indiana state law states that oversized loads can leave 1/2 hr before sunup and can run 1/2 hr after sundown. It was a horrible accident yes. But it was an accident. I am one of two children that survived a much worse accident that took the lives of my mother, father, and sister and the lives of another family except for one little girl also. And yes it involved a semi also. . Do not lay blame on the truck driver he was doing his job as allowed by law and feels bad enough I'm sure.

Well 6:15 is not 1/2 before dawn. Sunrise today was 7:39. This happened Wed so sunrise was around 7:30 at earliest. The trucker should feel bad. I feel bad for my cousins, their kids, their father so why should the trucker not feel bad!

Actually sunrise was 645 on Wednesday according to the weather.com for grovertown. So 615 was legal for him to leave. I never said he shouldn't feel bad. But put yourself in the truckers shoes. How would you feel being the one that took someone's life. I know you and the entire family is hurting right now and will be for a long time. But if you took the life of someone in a car accident would you want everyone laying the blame on you?

I am tired of people trying to make what the trucker did ok. 6:15 is over an hour before dawn. It is not ok, a fifty year old man is dead and his brother damaged for life. So, the trucker feels bad but he should have thought about that before leaving the truck stop. I know they want to get going and get their load delivered but at the cost of peoples lives!!! OUR WHOLE FAMILY FEELS BAD so I am suppose to think of the trucker, feel bad for the trucker, he did not think of the people he was putting in danger.

And I am tired of everyone blaming truckers for every accident that happens out on our highways. You need to look up when sunrise is and get facts straight. I HAVE LIVED WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH but will not blame the truck driver that killed my family and basically left me an orphan. I was a year and a half old when my family was taken from me. My mom was 26 years old. My dad was 28 and my sister was 3. And I have just recently found out the the truck driver in my accident lived exactly 1 month after our accident. He couldn't deal with what he had done and what everyone was saying about him so yes you should be feeling a little remorse for what he is going through.

I did sunrise was not until 7:31 for today in Plymouth. Maybe u looked up the wrong town. It is not light in, IN until around 7:30. Also to be exact the accident time was 6:11 AM. You have no business to tell me what I should feel or think and I will not answer u again. Some people just dont use their heads god gave them. Maybe this is your husband the trucker and that is why u r having a problem. Sorry u have had such bad things happen to u.

May god bless you family Sherry in getting through this difficult time I know it takes a long time to. I will be dealing with it for the 36th year in December. I was not trying to be mean or say how you should feel. I am just trying to state some facts that normally get left out. I hope your healing time it short because I know how long it can take. Instead of grieving each year, I have learned to celebrate the life my family had and the life they got to live.

Trucker we know this time is also hard on you no one wants to be in a accident let alone one that has a tragic loss. I do thank you in your collective posting rather then firing back at some of the uneducated comments towards the accident and profession. God be with all.
