Russia is for sure a Superpower, I have seen all the new weapons and militarizes coming about. Putin is really making the real Russia stand tall again and their country is not going to allow the US or NATO US take control of post Soviet countries by invading as they are. With Russia as 10 times more nuclear arsenal weapon's than the US that is something that has to say someone that Russia is not afraid to start things allover again, so the Iran has to go through and let them build their nuclear plant. If Israel attacks Iran on another air strike like they did in Iraq back in 1981 destroying Iraq's nuclear plant build by the Soviets, Russia is going to stand firm on this one. I think the US need to let Iran do what it wants and Israel needs to accept their peace process for nuclear power.

Russia isn't playing around; they are playing their cards carefully. Superpower indeed but the US forcing NATO in post soviet countries is a violation against US's promises to Russia back in 1991 by President Ronald Reagan making that solid promise and look at it today, NATO is in Czech Rep, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania and besides George & Ukraine want it(?). Who brought this on? The US pushed it and that is against what Reagan promised Russia but the US has violated its promise. So Russia is a Superpower again and there is a reason why.

Russia should defend itself from this bull dog the United States has been dying lying to Russia. These countries above shouldn't be NATO members and the US promised no NATO expansion in post soviet countries and look at the US has done.

The US is not so perfect and I can see why Russia is pissed and is building more nuclear weapons and beefing up their military forces.

Yeah so much for the 'big bad superpower America'. It rushed in to defend Kuwait against Iraq under Bush 1, yet now when its ALLY Georgia which has put troops on the ground to help the U.S. in its current war in Iraq needs help from Russia having invaded it, where is the U.S.? One place. Condi and the whole Dubya gang is on the sidelines flapping there jaws and groveling essentially saying "Georgia's integrity must be respected." Okay, so what is that supposed to mean? The U.S. is good about talking tough when it comes to taking on the pee-wee militaries even though they are still having a hell of a time in both Iraq and Afganistan after 7 years in each, but where are the tough-talking Neo con and Republican war Hawks about now regarding protecting their partner Gerogia from Russia bombing the soup out of them?

US former president Ronald Reagan promise Russia there would be no NATO expansion into post Soviet Union countries back 1989 which has clearly been violated. NATO is the new cold war, they are expanding and we cannot trust NATO. NATO is evil and Russia is the ally here. People need to Google the true about what NATO means and what relation is NATO, EU & Bilderberg together. I support Russia and I am against NATO, NATO is the emeny here. NATO wants to expand membership and spread every as much as they can. No Jerry, you aren't reading the news, Russia has the ability to be a superpower, they have all cases of economic, military, foreign policy, cultural, money and more to state as a Superpower. Second, only a superpower can destroy the world with it's military arsenal, which Russia can with 1/4 of it's nuclear arsenal as the US can only with half it's nuclear arsenal, so Russia has in most ways better standing than the US has.

The US has a 13 trillion GDP and their deficit is over $10 trillion, so the US is 70% in complete debt, they do not own all of their military arsenals as Russia does, Russia pays for everything in full. Second I may add, they paid off their deficit in 2005. If you read the news the US is on a serious decline and NATO is not going to help the US with it's problems, nor the EU.

NATO is not a superpower, nor is the EU.

Russia is a superpower and will remain a superpower in the 21st century along with China. The biggest question is the US a superpower or a former superpower as it is deeply in debt to world countries.

Show me a reliable source of where they said that. Russia only has 35 nuclear submarines as we have 72 currently. Never heard that either. Why would we want to pursue creating larger bombs anyway? What's the point? Kill more innocent civilians than needed? USA's defense budget does NOT include the money spent on current wars. Well that's just your opinion. It's pretty well known that we still are in a league of our own when it comes to military currently. The only ones who say otherwise are either Anti-american or Russian for the most part. Even russia admitted that it's military was heavily outdated and needed modernization as the Georgia-Russia conflict showed. EU has nothing to do with protection it's an economic relationship which the EU would want to pursue since Russia is filled with oil.
