If you are found to be sober do they give you a drink?

Why are we having these checkpoints? I can understand the rationale for these checkpoints during certain holidays such as New Year Eve. But to set up these checkpoints on a regular basis seems like a waste of taxpayer's money.

Because people don't *just* drink and drive on holidays.

I guess the union thugs need some more overtime to pad their wallets. I put the over / under at 6 arrests for DUI.

I know, but we can economically set up checkpoints at every major intersection throughout the year either. We have police officers on duty that should provide some protection throughout the year.

Remember lemmings, it is for your safety. TSA pat downs, the Patriot act, DUI checkpoints, etc. etc. etc. Never mind that you liberty and rights as a US citizen has been jeopardized.

I don't understand why they're posted with all the information. Wouldn't you just stay away from the area if you're drunk? LOL

Most of the people who get on their high horse about drinking were losers in high school who couldn't get laid so they're out to ruin everyone else's fun...usually under the guise of "protecting the children" or "public safety"

Posting this information was part of a ruling made by the US Supreme Court regarding your 4th Amendment rights being abrogated temporarily for the "good of society".

For the 472,356th time, the courts ruled they have to be publicized ahead of time.

How do people go through life and not know this stuff???

Wake the hell up and pay attention!

That's exactly what I was going to say.... hahaha Why do they have to tell them, that's never made sense to me at all? I would think that setting it up without letting people know would be more successful. I don't see how it could bother anyones' rights, because NOBODY has the right to drive after drinking!!!!!!!!!! I think that most logical people wouldn't think that it was wrong to do it without announcing it before the fact.

With minor variations, I think we could copy the comments from each DUI checkpoint story and re-post them the next time around. Waste of taxpayer money? Check. Constitutionality? Check. And so on. Seriously, are there new people commenting each time or are these the same "usual suspects"? Please do not infer that I disagree...it's just predictable is all.
