I wonder if this car can be leased? I would be willing to try it for a year or so, but I wouldn't want to be stuck with it if I hate it.

I'm excited about the future of electric cars, but if I can't get a mobile phone battery to perform and last, I'm very skeptical about buying a car run solely by battery power.
Amen! There is no way that I would ever rely on battery power for such a critical function. Cell phones, wireless phones, laptops, electric trimmers/blowers, and shaving razors are all examples of devices I've had to use that relied on batteries but ended up failing me within two years of purchase.

Why would I expect car batteries to be any different?

I DEMAND that we SLOW our rate of progress and HALT development of all new technologies that don't take place on an iPhone or Facebook! We invented the combustion engine over 200 years ago and I'm only just comfortable with THAT!

GE makes the elecric motors for locomotives, but we need a Chinese company so supply electric cars? What does GE know and what have they told Obama? They owe him big time for his bailing out their GE Capital unit. PS Obama wanted the car named The Mao.

If GE electric motors are anything like their Profile line of washing machines you should be happy the Chinese are building them. GA SUCKS!

After looking up Wheego on Wiki, I emerge only slightly less confused about the origin of it as a so-called "start-up" company. It SEEMS that perhaps the CEO in Atlanta had the concept and then farmed it out to China (?). In any event, China is selling the same car to the rest of the world as the E-Noble.

I was disturbed by the Dispatch's inference as a "given" that because Wheego was a start-up company, it was fated to be swallowed up by the corporate giants. Probably quite true, but is it right? The US is no longer a nation of shop-keepers, as the old saying goes ... But yet again, a warning sign that we have been captured by the big interests.

You don't have to be a global conspiracy theorist to know that independent labs have been burned down (sometimes repeatedly), to discourage the independent inventor and entrepreneur. Corporate Big Brother rules, and we are fools for not seeing it sooner.

Wow at $32K those things must be flying off the showroom floor. 100 miles is great, whoever goes more than 100 miles in a car these days anyway?
