"$7500 tax credit". That's a credit not a deduction. The fed will give you 7500, not jar reduce your taxable income by 7500. 7500 in your pocket.

Middle Wing ....One could say the same kind of things about people that don't wear helmets when riding a motorcycle. I wish I were in a position to buy a "City" car to help save money right now.

So why not just knock &7500 off the price and give the credit to the dealer and save the consumer the hassle?

By a range of "about 100 miles" I assume that really means "about 60 miles under most normal commuting use" That seems to be how the electric car forumla is working out.

(Except for the Volt, which claims 40 miles and actually seems to get close to that under normal commuting conditions.)

Kind of Ironic that some small start-up in Georgia has beaten both Nissan AND GM to market with plug-ins in Ohio.

Isn't Wheego a Chinese company?

Based on the quality of other Chinese goods I buy, I don't think I'd risk my life in an Chinese car right now.

Length: 118.5 inches, Width: 63.2 inches? The car is almost 10 feet long? 118.5/12 = 9.875. I can see this car being 5ft wide, but something is wrong in the length specification.

Imagine...Inductive powered cars riding on inductive streets.
No dangerous fuels, and no limit to travel time or distance (on inductive streets). Just a very expensive computerized metering system to pay taxes for the roads. Roads that never freeze with ice.
Imagine.

The electric grid of the 21st/22nd century.

I'm excited about the future of electric cars, but if I can't get a mobile phone battery to perform and last, I'm very skeptical about buying a car run solely by battery power.

"When you're sitting in traffic and everyone else is burning gas, the only power you're using is to run the radio and the air conditioning," he said.

The gas cars can be turned off also but the A/C won't work. Keep in mind the energy used to power the A/C in the electric car was generated by fossil fuels burned in a power generating plant then plugged into the battery system of the car. The power you are using was something burned, like gas. The statement above is deceptive, as are many parts of the green movement.

So? A 2012 Honda Civic hybrid is 177.3" x 69" (14.775' x 5.75').

How long should the Wheego LiFe be?

A Smart Fortwo is 106.1 in. x 61.4 in.(8.841' x 5.116')

Even if the electric car is getting electricity from a coal fired power plant, the emissions will be lower (due to the Clean Air Act). But remember, e-cars can be charged with solar and renewable forms of energy-something a gas vehicle cannot.
