His free public education as provided by the state should be over. Done, finished, no passing go. Get the hell out and never come back. Mom and dad should now have to home school their little larva so that that decent students and teachers can learn in a safe environment.

It is the parent(s) not the child.

It is my understanding this is an MR(mentally retarded) child. My daughters were in the classroom across the hall and they tell me it is an MR class. While I would agree with you if this were a "normal" student; if what I am being told is true then I beg to differ. I do agree with needing a safe environment, but MR kids, even those with violent outbursts they cannot control are still entitled to an education. I am not sure where you think education is free anyway. I pay taxes and buy supplies not only for my children but their classrooms as well. There is nothing free about it.

That's what you get when you let them have the pointy scissors in art class.

it wasnt scissors it was a pencil and everday tool the art teacher was across the hall and ran out to help, the student was not in her class the other teacher needed her help, and a coach ran and tackled and held the boy until the help arrived

its amazing that a student getting in a fight with a teacher makes the news.

This would never happen even 10 years ago...:(

It was not scissors it was a pen/pencil and it was not art class. It was an art teacher that ran to help the teacher that was in trouble. Get the facts before you judge! I guess stupid comments like that one are what you get when a news station posts only a small part of the story. They jump on the teacher attacked bandwagon and take their sweet time reporting the facts.

It was not a pen/pencil and it was not Grove. It was the Butler with a Candlestick in the Dining Room. Get a Clue.

The news just said 6 students in the class. How many classes have only 6 students?! It was a special class with special students that have problems. No one went to the hospital no one was seriously injured. Why even create the extra drama for this family that is all ready having a difficult time by putting this on the news? "IF" what my daughters who were there tell me is true, this was an MR student in an MR class. This is NOT just some angry pissed off punk of a kid on a rampage. IF it was I would gladly take back all I have said and say the same things about parents etc.

well yeah YOU buy those things, what about those that don't, they get it free. I teach school & there are TONS of freebies going out that my OWN kids don't get for free. And the MR kids if they are that violent they get sent to a special school or institution. They can't be there with other kids if they are knowingly going to harm someone. No excuse for this.

I would seriously question the parents ability to 'home school' their disgusting little spawn...'It' obviously requires a more 'stringent' and disciplined environment.Check out the parents...I suspect therein lies the root of the problem. In this over-indulged moron's defense, who hasn't at one time or another fantasized about assaulting their English teacher???

Ya there is free stuff going around but we are still paying taxes and not only that its only free for some students others have to by there supplies and most of the time. And ya they need to go to a special school but some may not know for sure if he has an anger problem, but it is not there fault, they were born that way. And they deserve a shot at a normal education with a normal life. some may not get a chance, but they do deserve a chance. But if u know that they are or have a chance to lash out like this boy did, then they dont need to be in skewl. and there are no special skewls around here anymore they have been shut down do to funding.

I agree with you. The key word here is "knowingly". No one knows what exactly happened because the news was to quick to jump on the assaulted teacher bandwagon with no facts. They do need to go to a safer facility for them and the staff. Unfortunately in Oklahoma our wonderful lottery has not funded the schools as it was supposed to so it is almost impossible to be able to assure ANY students and good safe environment. As for the special schools or institutions, there are none left. Vinita, Hism, etc have all been closed down.
