You know it really isn't news until you can give enough of a story that gives some real idea of what is going on. If the online news wants to keep some kind of record that they "reported it first" ok, you win. But if you truly want to be respected for reporting, please have a little more details so it at least looks like a story. What you "report" looks little more like rumors that get spread on facebook and such.

At this time you don't need to know any other details until the whole event is investigated and they have the correct information. That way they won't be reporting false info. You need to pipe down and let the authorities do their jobs so they can relate the details back to the media. Pretty plain and simple I think.

Gee...35 years and it is the same old story...domestic violence on Brookgrove Drive in Grove City. Isn't it kind of early in the morning for domestic violence? Do you think maybe the Grove City Alumni festivities are underway this week and they are living old flashbacks or what? Hmmm...I'm sorry someone had to get shot by the cops though. I mean, what in the heck is so bad that people have to threaten their own family members with violence? If the people who are committing acts of violence or threatening them would only learn to behave civil, they could seek justice for the pains that perhaps they might actually recognize as coming from society and not their loved one. But of course, that is another issue. People who commit these acts need to pay for them. The are wrong. No one should be allowed to break any of our laws in ways that create pain and loss for others and disunity in our communities. NO ONE!!!!

Reporting IS about giving information, or REPORTING responsibly and giving full and accurate info, or not giving it at all... They could have at least said why they shot, if he had a weapon or not, or threatening the other person, OR at least whether or not he is shot or shot DEAD... when you get into 11th grade journalism, you will learn that kind of stuff...

Shawn I made no comment about the authorities doing their job, I was refering to this online reporting doing a poor job of reporting something first without having more details and giving incorrect detailos because they want to be first. If you spent much time reading this online news you would see they often give incorrect details and often not enough information to even consider it a story. Why couldn't they check the facts out that they could, like the correct street in question, and given the police enough time to give a statement, instead of speculating and giving incomplete and incorrect info. I would rather have a thoughout correct story then this rushed crap that doesn't give correct info.

nachobm wrote: well dang they go out to investigate then kill the man smh!! you really have to be careful when you call the cops According to NBC4 he is not dead (or at least wasn't): "Medics were transporting the victim to Grant Medical Center at about 8:06 a.m." "He was shot once in the torso at close range. His thumb apparently was shot off."

You just agreed with me and also answered your own question you goof. Your exact words..."Reporting is about giving information or reporting responsibly and giving full and accurate info or not giving it at all". The media obviously had no other info other than someone was shot. This is because the police were not releasing any other info at the time .Think about it when you leave your trailer today and I bet eventually it will sink in. Then again I'm not sure if it will or not. Go to Teejay's and have your sausage and grits and an extra cup of java to stimulate the noggin a little. I know it's irritating for you not to know every little detail.

I heard this, I was standing in my yard on Brookgrove. And there were at least three shots fired. Luckily for the victim he was only hit once.

Shawn after reading your response a little closer you supported exactly what I was saying. First, it appears they did give incorrect info in their rush to report. And all I was asking was for them to wait like you said so they could get a statement from the police. In your rush to put me down you actually supported what I said. Thank you

I see very little reason to shoot anyone during a domestic dispute. As an observation GC police have become more aggressive over the last few years with its residence.
