Tempers flare as Shirley police officer fired

There are 66 comments on the Sentinel & Enterprise story from Nov 9, 2016, titled Tempers flare as Shirley police officer fired. In it, Sentinel & Enterprise reports that:

As Police Chief Thomas Goulden left the town offices Wednesday, Alfreda Cromwell had to hold back a man from going after Goulden as the chief exited the double doors. The unrest in the town of more than 7,000 residents is beginning to boil over after the Board of Selectmen voted, 2-1, to terminate Cromwell, a veteran police officer who is known for her work in local schools and with various drug programs.

Wasn't Shirley one of the many municipalities in which.the police were forced to arrest Kevin Lynch after.he committed crimes and anti social depredations?

Shirley was the town on Route 2 in which Lynch lost his license for road rage. Lynch also complained about the Shirley PD looking at "his" house, so he must have been doing something illegal there. Like ogling young football players with binoculars. Or maybe crapping on the train platform.

This story is ridicules. A LEO is fired for being untruthful???? If this state (or this Country) started to fire every last LEO who was untruthful at any point in their law enforcement careers, there would hardly be any LEO's left on our forces anywhere.......there might be a small handful left. Some towns and cities would be left without one single LEO on their forces.

NO, No, no......we cannot allow things to move down this path. Our nations LEO's should be allowed to remain just as untruthful as they have always been, with zero fear of any repercussions.....

The spelling and grammatical errors are a nice treat to read while enjoying my coffee.

Don't ever change, Kevin Lynch. You're the smartest slow adult in Fitchburg.

It sounds to me that you must have added something alcoholic to your coffee (and a heck of lot of it).......I am not Kevin Lynch.

I am simply an honest, hardworking American who recognizes that it would be shear folly to start firing our nations LEO's for being untruthful.....cops would be handed their walking papers in droves if we endorse and we enforce this approach.....

I love reading your posts, I really do. Not to fight someone else's battle but you're not an intelligent person.

Shear? Are you shearing a goat? What are you clipping? Oh, you meant to use the correct word, sheer.

You may not be Kevin Lynch but something tells me you took the same short bus to school and were in the same classes. Did you wear a helmet but weren't participating in any contact sports? And a lot of your arguments sound suspiciously like Kevin Lynch's arguments. Do you attend the same meetings? Share (there's another variant of that word again) the same talking points?

Keep being you, Kevin Lynch wannabe. You'll win whatever fight you're fighting sooner or later.

Aw, the losers lament. It's ok, you're a blue collar factory worker. We don't expect your grammar or command of the language to be anything better than a C student.

Since you're not that bright, why didn't you ever join the police force? They are nothing but C students and meatheads. You seem like you'd fit right in.

Yes, joining a police force is certainly on my "bucket list". I want to be able to FINALLY collect time and a half pay (with a 4 hour minimum) for standing around doing nothing whatsoever at a lucrative police detail....

Just drive around Fitchburg, as an example, during the week. You will see cop after cop ignoring traffic; chatting with construction workers; using their cell phones and daydreaming about how they are going to spend the extra money that pours in from these endless (and useless) details.

I CANNOT wait to start cashing in on it myself. To be honest with you, I have been trying to figure out a way to develop a tree that will grow 10 and 20 dollar bills as fruit. But, sadly I have not been able to do it yet. So, the next best thing is obviously being a cop in Massachusetts and getting in on the free money for these useless paid police details.

Where can I sign up!

Since you boneheads seemed to be obsessed with any spelling errors that I might make, I just figured that I would point out that Captain Crunch should have said "you're pathetic" and not "your pathetic".....

You should have said "too bad they did not teach you" and not "to bad they did not teach you".

And THAT is another spelling error for YOU.

You are currently losing. You have 2 spelling errors and I have one.

Well, at least you and I agree on one point. Every last one of our nation's LEO's ARE, in fact, extremely courageous. Even the ones who only work in the Station House itself and who only see the light of day when they are going to work or they are leaving for home. Or, when they run over to the local donut shop to get some goodies.....

Jeeze, even that cop from Andover that I saw on the news this morning who was charged with attempting to receive kiddie porn. He is courageous as well. He must have been working on an undercover sting operation, but the officers around him misread his courageous acts and incorrectly charged him with a kiddie porn charge........

Loosing?ah well not really Kevin,
You see I have been working my entire life, own my own home and very well have my finacial house in order, should have a comfortable retirement and able to travel and see the world.
You on the other hand have no job ,no assets and a road ahead of poverty, however look at the bright side, you have one less spelling error than me.
Whats the (un-productive )plans for today?
