What do you mean, "they don't want to pay their fair share"? I get my health insurance through my employer, they pay most of it, but I pay a small amount (about $200/mo). I WORK or this benefit. Did you get that? I WORK! That is my fair share. Why should I pay for someone else who sits on their behind all day and doesn't put in THEIR fair share????
My employer makes us pay $150 a week from my pay check! The state of Massachusetts is doing nothing to get the rich companies to pay more!

Do you know how much your employer is paying for your benefits? And are you considering your total compensation package?

"Rich" companies are the ones who open up the most jobs and encourage growth.

My company still has a 401k match and a profit sharing program. Sick days, vacation days, emergency daycare, and up to 24 hrs emergency family care. Will pay a large portion of my tuition if I go to school. Has bonus and recognition programs. Offers basic life insurance free of charge (and I can pay for additional coverage). Has a fitness center in house at a large discount to employees. Offers a wellness site via WebMD that if I participate in some activities (such as read articles) I'll get a $20 per month discount on my premium (and my employer already pays a larger portion). Has an employee assistance program where you can consult with a lawyer or mental health professional for free. Has enrolled in a program that offers discounts on goods and services to employees. Free Quit Smoking program.

All of this is part of the overall compensation package in addition to salary.

If this is a policy for one person you could do better if you buy your own insurance. If it a two person or family policy, you are getting a good deal. The state has a minimum wage law that forces companies to pay $0.75 per hour more than the national minimum wage and they force companies to provide health care insurance. They can't single out rich companies and make them pay more. Besides, if they did they would leave Massachusetts for a friendlier state.

I also have an issue with this Table of Plenty located in Chelmsford.Since when does Chelmsford have this need to serve free meals? If theydo in fact offer this, they should at least be charging all of the guests. Free meals to me is just asking for crime. There is no need to be catering free meals to people who love not too spend and just think about handout's all the time. You pay for your meals because of a paycheck or social security. Free meals again is asking for crime no dought about it.
