I assumed these were regular resignations. Now I've read in today's Lowell Sun that there was "a controversy within the Police Department resulting in a high-ranking officer's resignation."

What is going on with our town departments? The town manager's acting inappropriately, a water department technician has a still and there are police resignations. Is there no oversight of our employees? No accountability? They do work for us. We pay their salaries.

I am disgusted, as are many others. How many more towns are to be added to his resume..of being "contrite".

RE: Freedom of Information....why did the 2 police
quit the Groton Police Department. Was that made known and I missed reading about it?

We don't know why. No friends or neighbors have heard anything either. The first we heard was when we read about it in last week's Groton Herald. Personal reasons were cited.

Just a thought....didn't 2 police officers resign in another one of the towns in which Haddad was working....?

According to the Groton Herald article (Dec. 9), two Cohasset police officers were fired under Haddad's tenure.

Now it's gone public....in this afternoon's Sun under "Breaking News"...more to follow in tomorrow's paper. The two of them are accused of lying regarding an incident that one was involved in.

Hard to keep up with all of the town's intrigue!

Double standard. The two cops are allowed to resign and the water tech/moonshine guy is allowed to retire but the town manager gets to stay. There is no justice.

When will the governor's office get involved with the police and straighten them out? They're all corrupt and have real attitude problems.

Try police duty in the city. That would change one's attitude.
