The ignorant racial comments some of you have made are ridiculous. This has nothing to do with race. Amy and Steven (Carlos) are good people and I care for them both. They have two beautiful children and Amy is an amazing loving mother who I love dearly. Maybe you should stop and consider the economy, and how hard it is to raise two young children. In times of desperation, people make desperate moves.

Amy and Carlos are both fine examples of human excrement who will be going to jail for the felonies the committed (bank robbery & running from the pollice). Give themn a big hug soon because they're going away for a while. And her kids will be better off in the long run for not having a deadbeat, criminal mother raising them.

So in her desperation she exhausted all of the social services available to her in the area? That's your claim? Show some proof. She's most likely a crackhead and needed the money to get her fix. She should have resorted to turning tricks before robbing a bank. She's lucky an off duty police officer with a gun on them wasn't there or she may be dead now. We'd probably be better of with that result anyway.

Where did you see the word "gunpoint"?

Read the article again, it says NO WEAPON WAS FOUND although witnesses said she had one. Doesn't say what it was, for all you know her hand was in her pocket. Plus people in these parts like to be involved in every little thing and say they saw things they didn't.

I am not excusing the robbery, obviously it's wrong. I'm simply stating that a) this has nothing to do with race b) they are good people who did a bad thing

She's "most likely" a crackhead. Do you know her? She's far from a "deadbeat". She took damn good care of her kids and loved them. You disgust me.

I don't think it has anything to do with race either. She's white, and he's part of the scumbag McNiff family, not exactly a Uruguayan stereotype.

However they are bad people.

People in a family that do bad things doesn't make the WHOLE family scumbags. Go back in your lineage, I'm sure you've got a murderer or a rapist somewhere in there. Does that make you one?

She's a piece of garbage and will now be an even bigger leach on society when she goes to jail. Just because no weapon was found doesn't mean that one wasn't used to commit the crime. You do understand that, don't you simpleton? Eye witnesses claim they saw a gun. I'm sure the bank and store's video systems will show whether or not she had a weapon.

As for you sticking up for your friend. While defending ones friends is noble, it's wise to know when to shut your mouth. She robbed a bank. No matter what her motives, what she did is despicable. What if her actions had caused the teller to have a heart attack and die? What she did was a selfish, selfish act and she should pay dearly for it. That includes never having unsupervised contact with her children as she's an unfit mother. She's human excrement. Sorry, the truth is the truth.

I completely agree with you! But just so everyone is clear. In Mass there doesn't have to be a weapon to be Armed Robbery. The victim only needs to believe or think there is a weapon involved and be able to explain why they think so. It has to be more than just an assumption.

Simpleton? Is that supposed to offend me? No matter how many people say they SAW a gun or they THOUGHT there was a gun, that doesn't make it real. If one is found with her prints or one shows on camera in her hand, then fine call it an armed robbery. I am not defending what she did, it IS wrong, which I made clear in my previous post. I in no way think she had a right to do what she did, and I'm not defending the crime, what I AM defending is the racial slurs made against her fiance' and the degrading comments on her motherhood. She is a good mom, a GREAT mom who made a bad decision. In an effort to provide for her children, she committed a crime in desperation. Is that too hard for you to see or is everything cut and dry with you? Have you ever loved someone to the point where you would act out in ways you never saw yourself doing? Or are you really as heartless as you come across?
