What "local media outlet" ? This one? Please report who, what, where, when, and why.

It would also help if the Selectmen would post the meeting minutes in a timely manner on the website. The last Groton Selectmen's meeting minutes that are posted are from September 2010. The Town cannot depend on the media coverage to get the message out.

People in Groton are in the dark on many issues as of late.

hmmm...first a house with apartments was removed from station ave...now the fire station isn't adequate....buy a church... move it....build a new
fire station where the church was. Now an empty fire station hmmmme....tear it down or include
it with the Town father's plans to construct what..? Oh yes..a mini mall with "affordable housing" that few can afford.
Now 2 empty school buildings...a country club with
nothing to do.....let's see what's next...move the
GD HS for a fire station?...let's not forget the Jenkins Rd. saga..oh dear... the rail trail...
..the original settlers would be scratching their heads ..or laughing.

This is all making a sow out of a silk purse.

I've got to think that "someone" just wants to clear out the Station Ave. properties for "the development" and the old firehouse is in the way of the plan. All of a sudden, "we need a new fire station!!!" So, stick it to the taxpayers AGAIN and go ahead with the deal without providing the details. Tell the minions only what you want them to know. Too much factual information in their possession will ruin "somebody's" plans and a chance for making a lot of dough on the project. Sarcastic? No. Possible? Yes.

Double Ditto! Someone's in it for the bucks not for the town.

Acquire the lot between Town Hall and the current fire station. Then we'd have a municipal complex!

There'd be plenty of parking available for the emergency personnel (as well as town hall employees and visitors) which we deperately need now. The current fire building could be expanded to house larger vehicles. What's to be done with ANOTHER abandoned town building?

A traffic light needs to be installed at the intersection anyway. How foolish to cling to the "no traffic light in our town" mindset even to this day. It's a safety necessity!
