Hello -

I work for a temporary placement agency located in Chelmsford Mass.

In March of this year, they placed me at the Archive Systems facility in Littleton Mass working the second shift.
I received a phone from my placement office stating that I was no longer working at Archive Systems, because the first shift supervisor, Janice Watts, said that I was argumentative. I have interacted with Janice on several occasions and there was not a problem until the Wednesday of my last week.

When I arrived at work on that last Wednesday, the terminal at my workstation was in the process of updating. Janice approached me and yelled that since my terminal was updating I would be at another workstation because I wasn't going to be allowed to "Just sit and stare at my computer for an hour and a half!! ".

It never even occurred to me to do that, but Janice had imagined a scenario where I had planned on doing this and decided to reprimand me for it even though it was just her fantasy.

I then thought out loud that I did not have the password to the other workstation memorized so I was going to have to copy it off the sheet. Janice imagined a scenario where I was going to memorize that new password, and screamed at me about how stupid it would be to memorize it since I was only going to be using that work station for a few hours. Again, I never stated that I was going to do this, Janice imagined I was and reprimanded me for it, rapidly approaching hysterics.

The passwords for each workstation are written on small slips of paper and kept under the keyboard at each station. Janice saw that the slip of paper at this workstation was in fact not under the keyboard, but next to it.

This is when she became completely unglued and started screaming and pounding her hand on the desk, losing all control emotionally. I stated to her that she did not have to micromanage where that piece of paper was and her eyes rolled back in her head and she started to scream even louder about the slip of paper. I expected her to physically attack me at any moment.

I started working at this facility in March od 2015, and by May there was only one other employee who had been there longer than myself. There is a very high rate of turnover at this facility, and even at a time where many people are looking for work, this facility can not keep employees.

I have been told that Janice does a good amount of work, and that her work is very accurate. However, I would question her ability to make up for all the productivity that is lost because of her unprofessional behavior. I am aware of the fact that her supervisor Russ has had to speak to her on several occasions about her lack of ability to lead effectively.

No one should be expected to endure the screaming hysterical emotions of this individual. For her to behave in this manner, and then to complain about how people react to her is unreasonable, and I doubt that she is able to compensate for the entirety of the production you have lost because of her ridiculous and unprofessional behavior.

I witnessed a similar event involving this supervisor.
I don't care how good she is at data entry, there is no excuse for this woman's behavior.
I understand that she has medical issues, but if she can't do her job as supervisor without behaving like a lunatic then she should not supervise others and just do the data entry. I got so tired of hearing her story about how she had to figure out how to do everything on her own because she was the first one there and blah blah blah. I'm sure most of us could have done the same but without all the mistakes.
I also became aware of the fact that this establishment has an extremely high rate of turnover. Janice would comment on the fact that they had a very hard time keeping staff, but if she was as smart as she thinks she is she would realize that she is the main reason no one wants to work there.
I don't wish her I'll, as a matter of fact I hope she overcomes her many many physical ailments.
But I don't think anyone who works there deserves to suffer the self righteous wrath of this miserable woman.

I also worked there. I was surprised that the computer equipment that we used to enter the data was so crappy.
And would never work anywhere with that supervisor again. Out of her mind.

Also been there done that during 2014. She kept telling me my typing was too slow (even though the I was matching the recommendations, 80 wpm, for the position). It was a mad house; Janice was dogging me everyday to match her speed and threatened me everyday to go faster or else I'd be fired and did similar physical warnings too. BUT, I wasn't doing that bad, so I stayed on for the year. After a while, she changed tactics and started bullying me and some others, high school style, for their weight, typing speed, driving style, even their taste in movies or coffee! Somebody got fired for standing up for himself and confronting her. Another guy got fired for having an inappropriate password for his computer. She could've asked him to change it, but Janice convinced Russ that this guy refused (I know this, because he texted me). Funny thing: HE WAS THE BEST TYPIST WE HAD.

I actually tried to resolve things between us 1 on 1, but she just couldn't bear the thought of being sorry for something so she ignored me. She lied to Russ (her boss) about my behavior; being "obstinate" and "not open to correction". Eventually what got me fired was that she got sick of me and told Russ to change the typing speed requirement to JUST ABOVE what I applied for so that I would get fired and everyone else would get to stay. I may have been a slow typer, and would've been weeded out anyway, but gosh, NOBODY deserves the kind of harassment-torture you'd get at this job!

I've got way too many stories about this job, lol. Wanna know what's ironic? the boss we had before Janice was just a shitty, Yet.. They fired her for FREAKING OUT ALL THE TIME. I just dont get it.

These reviews sound all too familiar. I can vouch for all of them too. Insane asylums aren't inhumane if the right people inhabit them.

What is Russ's roll in this? Didn't he hire Janice? Isn't HE responsible for her behavior? Is he too much of a coward to confront Janice? Or is he just lazy? I find it hard to believe that Russ is unaware of Janice's actions. Doesn't he ever question why there are so many no shows and/or dismissals at his shop? Is he afraid to stand up to Janice? Do the managers at Archive Systems have any idea of the hundreds of thousands of dollars Janice has cost them? There is an element called the learning curve. If you never stop training new people your work force never gets passed the learning curve, and you're wasting huge amounts of money. Is Janice the problem or is Russ the problem? Perhaps someone from Archive Systems will address this issue. Let's make sure they are aware of what's going on.

I agree with this post. While Janet is responsible for her own reprehensible behavior, it's Russ that allows it to continue. Perhaps he just doesn't have what it takes to replace her, and would rather coast along.

Occasionally I will run into a horrible bitchy woman who needs a good punch in the face. And I think of Janice.

I do data entry and it can be a tedious task. I can't imagine being subjected to the crazy antics of a person with mental health issues while I was trying to get my work done. Good for you for not having to put up with this crazy woman's bullshit any more. But I do feel sorry for anyone at Archive Systems who is still trapped in the same room as this nut job. Her supervisor should be fired as well as her. What a ridiculous situation.

As a woman I can not imagine tolerating this woman's irresponsible actions. If she can not control herself then she needs to relinquish her supervisory position. People can not perform well under these conditions. If she tried to subject me to this she would be sued along with her supervisor. I encourage anyone who is in situation at Archive Systems to pursue legal action against both of the people responsible for this being allowed to continue.

This is an unbelievable situation. I can't imagine being trapped in a job with a lunatic for a supervisor. Archive Systems should do something about her.
