Discussions about how to cut municipal costs by sharing public safety dispatch duties is on the agenda of the five Grosse Pointes, although the rumored elimination next month of the Shores dispatch department is unfounded.

Who cares where the calls go to. As long as the police or fire units are dispatched in timely manner. Grosse Pointe Shores officals are smart considering this idea. If none of the Grosse Pointe communities take over dispatching GPS might contract with SERESA (Southeast Regional Emergency Services Authority) which consists of SCS, Roseville, and Eastpointe.
