What do you think about credit unions compared to banks? There are two credit unions in town, Community 1st Credit Union and the U of I Community Credit Union. Here is an article written by MSN Money -

Credit unions used to pay a higher return on savings and give loans at a lower rate. The trade off was that the money was not insured by the FDIC. Now I think the banks are out to screw the customer and I would deal with a credit union just for that reason.
