This is just common sense. "Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig advises consumers to "never release your personal identifying information like bank and credit card account numbers, Social Security numbers or secret passwords in response to an unsolicited request of any kind. Be very cautious. Should you get a suspicious text message, call your bank to verify that it's not a scam." What idiot would believe a text message without checking it first?

OMG, I give out my social security number and personal info all the time. Thank goodness we have such a superior DA that is so much smarter than the rest of us.

What would I do without Mr. Reisig's press release advice since I am a incompetent buffoon.

I sure hope he tells me who to vote for in the next election, or I would be loss.

wow! It seems that every article, there is someone who comes in and makes a link to bash Jeff Reisig- I am not his biggest fan, but sometimes, you gotta wonder why these people feel it is needed to bash him in every forum. LOL

This happened to me last week. The text said, "Chase Fraud: If you attempted to purchase $639.75 from direct marketers on 12/10, please reply with 1. If not, reply with 2."

It looked legit, but I called Chase anyway. They have stopped fraudulent use of my card in the past and issued me a new card.

Sure enough, they didn't send it. I'm wondering how the Vishers knew I had a Chase credit card, but I guess that's a naive question.

I just spoke to an ATT rep yesterday who told me that there are scammers out there who send a legit looking text which requires the user to text the word "stop" and if one doesn't the user's account is charged a monthly fee. I told her that it is illegal and no cotract can be assented to in such a manner. She did not have a response except they are doing it. I had to get a special block.

Reisig needs bashing for all his shenanigans. Too much smoke about this guy, he bears considerable watching.

You guys are the ones wasting this sites time with your smoke that never leads to any fire. How about thanks for press release, I'll keep that in mind and not wonder about your daily conspiracy theories.

Same old tune, when you want to protect your own you cry conspiracy theory. Federal law suits is not theory, settlements are not theory, county over turning cases is not theory, career cops corroborating that Reisig hides evidence during murder trials is not theory.

Nice try, I am sure all your right wing conservative buddies believe your theory.

Daily Horoscope for March 22

Libra

Now that the life-giving Sun is moving through Aries and your seventh house of marriage and partnership, the focus turns to your most significant relationships. This also includes those whom you compete with, so be prepared for a somewhat stressful few weeks. By listening more than you speak, you can respond constructively. Partners will be obstreperous, so to get your way, make it seem like it was your partner's idea.
