This bill needs to be axed.

The medical and mental health industry are too cooperative to the Pharmacutical industry for profits and everyone has a mental disease according to their industry.

Senate Bill 1046 would set up a committee of three psychologists and three physicians who would give the 2011 Legislature a set of recommendations for what testing and education psychologists need and which drugs they could prescribe.

Richter Taylor said the governor remains conflicted about the bill and will listen to both sides over the next several days before making a final decision. Among his concerns is that the final version of the bill didn't get a public hearing.

Only two states have similar laws. Groups including the Oregon Medical Association and Oregon Psychiatric Association opposed the bill.

Sen. Laurie Monnes Anderson, D-Gresham, one of the main supporters, said the move is necessary to expand access to medication for the mentally ill.

"People with mental problems have a terrible time," Monnes Anderson said. "There are not enough psychiatrists to take care of their needs."

She said she has made an appointment with the governor to try to talk him out of a veto. If he kills the bill, she said, the issue will come up again when the Legislature meets next year.

There has been "No" biological defect found for any mental illness or any of the other made to order diagnoses by any neurological study.

Without a test for chemical imbalance the mental health (psychiatry) is limited in the ancillary tests of medicine like an EKG, EEG, blood work or other tests in the diagnoses of a patient. They aren't needed in Psychiatry.

The psychiatric diagnosis is made on the basis of behavior and hearsay.

If we respect metabolic changes based on daily dietary habits, weight gain / loss , terms of the survival of the organisms as a person age along with physical conditioning, physical illness, electrolyte level, gender differences , body temperature, I don't see where the Mental Health and Counseling Industry could conform to any consistency in data with consideration to the above to state a person has a mental disease or illness based on chemical imbalance.

APA lies to the American Public and puts the society in danger

There is no test for chemical imbalance, No medical model and no evident based medicine in psychiatry. The fraud has been going on for more then 30 years since H W Bush was CEO, Eli Lilly and before his VP under the Reagan Presidency when the essential Amino Acid "Tryptophan" was limited in the food chain and Prozac entered the market place. Lots of people compromised under the fraud of mental health services with made to order mental illnesses.

There Are No "Chemical Imbalances"

"The hypothetical disturbances of neurochemical function that are said to underlie "mental illness" are just that: hypothetical. No experiment has ever shown that anyone has an "imbalance" of any neurotransmitters or any other brain chemicals. Nor could any conceivable experiment demonstrate the existence of a "chemical imbalance," simply because no one, least of all the biopsychiatrists, has the slightest idea what a proper and healthy chemical "balance" would look like."

"...the views and beliefs of biopsychiatry have nothing to do with the answers to scientific questions in any case: the hunt for biological "causes" of "mental illness" is an entirely fallacious enterprise in the first place; the non- existence of data to support its assertions is quite beside the point."

"The latest edition of one pharmacology text has this to say about the status of depression as a disease: "Despite extensive efforts, attempts to document the metabolic changes in human subjects predicted by these [biological] hypotheses have not, on balance, provided consistent or compelling corroboration." This is a long-winded way of admitting that not even a scrap of evidence supports the idea that depression results from a "chemical imbalance." Yet patients are told every day - by their doctors, by the media, and by drug company advertising - that it is a proven scientific fact that depression has a known biochemical origin. It follows directly that millions of Americans are being lied to by their doctors; and people surely can't give informed consent for drug treatment when what they're being "informed" by is a fraud.... To sum up: there is no evidence whatsoever to support the view that "mental illness" is biochemical in origin; in other words, things like "Unipolar Disorder" and "Attention Deficit Disorder" simply do not exist."

Child psychiatry is sick with hidden conflicts of interest
By Dr. Leonard Sax

Sunday, December 14th 2008, 4:00 AM

When I first began writing prescriptions for children 22 years ago, it was unusual for a child to be taking powerful psychiatric drugs. Today it's common. How did we get here?

Dr. Joseph Biederman is part of the answer. He's an important guy. His title is "chief of pediatric psychopharmacology" at Massachusetts General Hospital, the main teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School. Pediatricians and family doctors look to him, and doctors like him, for guidance about what they should do with problem kids. For the past two decades, Biederman has pushed the use of medications for treating ADHD and bipolar disorder. Over the past two decades, the use of medications for treating those disorders has soared.

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), recognizing how much influence Biederman has in promoting these medications for children, wondered whether the doctor might be taking money from drug companies. When first asked, Biederman admitted to taking perhaps "a couple hundred thousand dollars" from pharmaceutical companies. When he was asked to take another look, it turned out that Biederman and a colleague had accepted more than $1.6 million from the drug companies. And they hadn't told anybody.

Or consider the case of Dr. Fred Goodwin. After stepping down as director of the National Institute for Mental Health, Goodwin moved on to serve as the host of the NPR program "The Infinite Mind." Goodwin didn't think he needed to tell anybody that the drug companies were paying him $1.3 million, even as he reassured listeners on his program about the safety of powerful psychiatric medications for children. Last month, after his connections to the drug industry came to light, NPR canceled his program.

Poor Children Likelier to Get Antipsychotics

New federally financed drug research reveals a stark disparity: children covered by Medicaid are given powerful antipsychotic medicines at a rate four times higher than children whose parents have private insurance. And the Medicaid children are more likely to receive the drugs for less severe conditions than their middle-class counterparts, the data shows.
Those findings, by a team from Rutgers and Columbia, are almost certain to add fuel to a long-running debate. Do too many children from poor families receive powerful psychiatric drugs not because they actually need them — but because it is deemed the most efficient and cost-effective way to control problems that may be handled much differently for middle-class children?
The questions go beyond the psychological impact on Medicaid children, serious as that may be. Antipsychotic drugs can also have severe physical side effects, causing drastic weight gain and metabolic changes resulting in lifelong physical problems.
On Tuesday, a pediatric advisory committee to the Food and Drug Administration met to discuss the health risks for all children who take antipsychotics. The panel will consider recommending new label warnings for the drugs, which are now used by an estimated 300,000 people under age 18 in this country, counting both Medicaid patients and those with private insurance.
Meanwhile, a group of Medicaid medical directors from 16 states, under a project they call Too Many, Too Much, Too Young, has been experimenting with ways to reduce prescriptions of antipsychotic drugs among Medicaid children.

Psychiatric "Chemical Imbalance Fraud" confirmed by Three New England States

BOSTON – Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island have released statements undercutting the fraudulent "chemical imbalance of the brain" marketing that is the foundation of billions of psycho-pharmaceutical dollars and the entire mental health diagnosis process.

All six New England state mental health agencies were given FOIA requests to produce documents "showing a) the existence of chemical imbalance of the brain, b) any known test for chemical imbalance of the brain and c) any test that shows what a correct chemical balance of the brain would be." While Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut continually refused to answer this very controversial request, the other three New England states admitted to having no such data or documents.(The documents are at www.cchreus.org under "news items.")

"Psychiatry, drug companies and their front groups, like the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, have fraudulently claimed for years that their mental disorders are illnesses that are based on brain chemical imbalances that can only be corrected by psychiatric drugs," said Kevin Hall, New England Director of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) that was established by the Church of Scientology.

"This data confirms that psychiatry’s drugging and diagnosing have no scientific basis whatsoever."

This data confirms that psychiatry’s drugging and diagnosing have no scientific basis whatsoever."

Per CCHR and other critics of psychiatry, millions of adults and children are merely being dangerously drugged to mask behavioral symptoms which is the same reason people often take street drugs. CCHR also points out that unlike medical illnesses that are found through scientific research and discovery, mental disorders are merely groups of symptoms that are voted into existence by American Psychiatric Association committees.

"In effect, three New England states are now admitting that they have paid billions of dollars to institutionalize people, remove children from families and funnel school children into a mental health system that labels and drugs them for no scientific reason," said Hall. "Cancer and diabetes can be scientifically diagnosed while calling ADHD, anxiety or alcoholism a medical disease is simply a lie. The clothes have been removed from the psychiatric emperor."

Psychiatry: Force of Law
by James B. Gottstein, Esq.

The purpose of this article is to set forth just the basic legal principles, underpinnings and practices employed in the widespread use of legal force to compel unwilling patients into locked psychiatric hospitals and, most importantly, force brain damaging drugs and other brain damaging treatments such as Electroshock upon them over their desperate, but hopeless objections.  The companion article, Unwarranted Court Ordered Medication: A Call to Action, describes what might be done about it and this article is really background for that one.  In addition, there are a number of excellent law review articles on the subject, a small sampling of which are listed at the end of this article.
The impetus for this article is the realization that the scientific basis for these forced treatments is non-existent and they are permanently damaging hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people.  No other field of medicine allows this sort of forced treatment.  Of course, there are many people who see psychiatrists and voluntarily, even eagerly, take psychiatric medications.  This article has absolutely no complaint about this.  It is unwarranted forced treatment that is being addressed.  This article also does not address the issue of somewhat more subtle coercion such as "if you don't take the medication, we will take your housing away from you" or "if you don't take your medication, we will have you committed to the mental hospital."  This article is solely concerned with using the force of law (court orders) to compel people to submit to unwarranted psychiatric treatments they do not want.  What  unfolds is a legal system of Catch-22's for the patients and one where the courts have not only abdicated to "professionals" their responsibility to protect the rights of people coming before them, but also condones perjury in furtherance of this abdication.
This outright disregard of the law is done in the name of "we know what is right for the person" and therefore it is okay to ignore the law.  It is not the purpose here to show that this assertion (of knowing what is right) is scientifically invalid.  See, Psychiatric Myths and Scientific Research by Topic for places to learn about that. There is a growing revolt among principled psychiatrists over the abuses of forced psychiatry.  For purposes here, it will only be suggested that one should be very skeptical of the validity of a process that relies on lies to achieve its results.

Psychiatry has no medical model, no evidence based medicine and is based on hearsay by an industry that use toxic mind drugs from the Pharmacutical industry that many of the drugs have a black box warning and has history of harm to the residence of this county. Many of the fraudulent made to order diseases are to promote mental disorder for drugging and other political reasons.

Psychiatry being unchecked by any recording devices to protect the patient (victim) routinely propagandizes and uses false memory. Some of these may be used in crimes that a person normally would have not committed or used to break the bonding between child and parent.

Section 241 of Title 18 is the civil rights conspiracy statute.

Section 241 makes it unlawful for two or more persons to agree together to injure, threaten, or intimidate a person in any state, territory or district in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him/her by the Constitution or the laws of the Unites States

Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, these include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official's lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties.

The Judiciary is the one branch of government we cannot afford to have fail. Yet across this country, due directly to lack of oversight it is failing the public miserably.

Virginia Tech

Cho had a history of psychotropic and Depressant drug usage in his life time. May have been psychothreapy:

Virginia Tech:

The investigation panel had sought Cho's medical records for several weeks, but due to privacy laws, Virginia Tech was prohibited from releasing them without permission from Cho's family, even after Cho's death.[103] The panel had considered using subpoenas to obtain his records. On June 12, 2007, Cho's family released his medical records to the panel, although the panel said that the records were not enough.[104][105] The panel obtained additional information by court order.[106] Like the Columbine massacres, and Jokela school massacres, the perpetrators of the Virginia Tech masascre, Cho Seung-Hui, was also prescribed an anti-depressant (Prozac) prior to his suicidal rampage, a substance suspected by Peter Breggin and David Healy of leading to suicidal behaviors.[107]

There was a cover up in hiding the records pf Cho by the psychiatist

Virginia Tech Shooter's Psych Doctor Hid Mental Health Records for Seung-Hui Cho (correction)

NaturalNews) New revelations about the mental "treatment" of Virginia Tech shooter Seung-Hui Cho are surfacing today after the surprise discovery of his mental health records in the home of the former university psych doctor who treated him. These mental health records -- which have not yet been made public -- have been missing since the shooting took place. Dr. Robert C. Miller, we now know, took the records home and secretly kept them there, avoiding telling police about their location. They were only found during a document discovery phase of a pending trial.

The fact that these records were taken from the university, then hidden in the home of the psych doctor who treated the victim, and then were not even found by a Governor-appointed commission (which never even bothered to interview Dr. Miller) seems almost unbelievable.

Parents of the shooting victims feel the same way. "Deception comes to my mind in my first response," said parent Suzanne Grimes in an AP article. "It gives me the impression,'What else are they hiding?'"

"What information is in those records?" asked parent Lori Haas.(Her daughter was also wounded in the shootings.)

"The words that come to mind are coverup, collusion, obstruction," said parent Mike Pohle in a Washington Post report.(His son was also killed in the incident.) "I'm spinning. Who knows what could be in those records?" he asked.

In 2007, when the university was conducting an exhaustive search for the records, Dr. Robert C. Miller claimed he didn't know where they were. Virginia State Police are now investing whether a crime was committed by Dr. Miller.(Removing mental health records and hiding them in your home is, indeed, a crime.)

But this isn't even the most shocking part of this story...

Rebecca Riley (2 years old)

Doctor says mother gave child double dose at times
Hull girl, 4, died of alleged overdose

Psychiatrist admits she approved higher drug dosage in Riley trial

Dr. Kayoko Kifuji acknowledged that when she first met Rebecca Riley, at age 2, she had initially diagnosed her with having attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder after only a one-hour meeting. She authorized the mother to give one prescription tablet of clonidine, a sedative, each night.
But within a few days, Carolyn Riley acknowledged she was giving the girl two full tablets.
“Did she ask for you to authorize the double dose?” asked Plymouth First Assistant District Attorney Frank J. Middleton Jr.
“No,” replied Kifuji, who spoke in quiet, measured tones throughout her testimony.
Kifuji is testifying as a prosecution witness under a grant of immunity, it was disclosed in court today.

Psychiatrist Won't Practice Medicine After Girl's Death
4-Year-Old Died Of Drug Overdose, Officials Said

Pasted from < http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/10955712... ;

The two year old at the time was given a diagnosis of attention deficit disorder and bipolar disorder, which is characterized by mood swings and drugged on a cocktail of drugs.

Why was the infant put on a cocktail of psychotropic drugs in the first place?

What I question is why the Psychiatrist was give immunity in the prosecution?

I further question why the Defense attorney didn't ask her what medical model, what evidence based medicine did she have for the diagnoses. I would have further asked if the Psychiatrist received any compensation or incentive from the pharmaceutical industry in prescribing mind drugs.

What is more interesting is that in a later suit (with the same persons, different case = wrongful death ) this infant who for two years till her death had her brains boiled in toxic mind chemicals based on no real diagnoses since there isn't any because the APA admitted in 2007 that there was no test for chemical imbalance and that the industry lied for the purposes of drugging infants, children and adults for political and economic reasons.

The Psychiatrist voluntarily gives up her license. Isn't that nice... since she can reapply and be reinstate I 90 days.

(Also take note that in many of the case in which a child or adult dies the psychiatrist merely changes to a new working alias and move out of state).

Death, Depression and Prozac

Pasted from < http://www.thenation.com/doc/20050418/cockbur... ;

Jeff Weise, teen slayer of ten, including himself, at the Red Lake Indian reservation in northern Minnesota, was on Prozac, prescribed by some doc.

The minute the high command at Eli Lilly, manufacturer of Prozac, saw those news stories about Weise you can bet they went into crisis mode, and only began to relax when Weise's web surfs of neo-Nazi sites took over the headlines. Hitler trumps Prozac every time, particularly if it's an Injun teen ranting about racial purity.
How many times, amid the carnage of such homicidal sprees, do investigators find a prescription for antidepressants at the murder scene? Luvox at Columbine, Prozac at Louisville, Kentucky, where Joseph Wesbecker killed nine, including himself. You'll find many such stories in the past fifteen years.
By now the Lilly defense formula is pretty standardized: self-righteous handouts about the company's costly research and rigorous screening, crowned by the imprimatur of that watchdog for the public interest, the FDA. And of course there's the bogus comfort of numbers; if Lilly's pill factory had a big sign like McDonald's, it could boast PROZAC: MILLIONS SERVED.
Each burst in the sewage pipe brings a new challenge to Lilly's sales force, which has had some heavy hitters down the years, including George Herbert Walker Bush (onetime member of the Lilly board of directors); former Enron CEO Ken Lay (onetime member of the board); George W. Bush's former director of the Office of Management and Budget, Mitch Daniels (a former senior vice president); George W. Bush's Homeland Security Advisory Council member Sidney Taurel (a Lilly CEO); and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (a recipient of Lilly funding).

Psychiatric Drugs: Chemical Warfare on Humans - interview with Robert Whitaker

The following is a Street Spirit interview with Robert Whitaker, author of Mad In America: Bad Science, Bad Medicine, and the Enduring Mistreatment of the Mentally Ill. It is reprinted here with permission from the Street Spirit in Oakland, California. The interview is conducted by Terry Messman, editor of Street Spirit.
Whitaker exposes the massive lies and cover-ups that have corrupted the Food and Drug Administration's drug review process, and co-opted research trials in order to spin the results of drug tests and conceal the serious hazards and even deadly side-effects of brand-name drugs like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil and Zyprexa.
The story becomes even more frightening when we look at the aggressive tactics these giant drug companies have used to silence prominent critics by defaming them in the press, and by using their money and power to have widely respected scientists and eminent medical researchers fired for daring to point out the hazards and risks of suicide and premature death caused by these drugs.
Whitaker starts by debunking the effectiveness of these massively hyped wonder drugs -- antidepressants like Prozac, Zoloft and Paxil, and the new atypical antipsychotic drugs like Zyprexa. His research shows how they often are barely more effective than placebos in treating mental disorder and depression, despite the glowing adulation they have received in the mainstream media.
But he goes on to make the startling claim that these new psychiatric drugs have directly contributed to an alarming new epidemic of drug-induced mental illness. The very drugs prescribed by physicians to stabilize mental disorders in fact are inducing pathological changes in brain chemistry and triggering suicide, manic and psychotic episodes, convulsions, violence, diabetes, pancreatic failure, metabolic diseases, and premature death.
Whitaker originally was a highly regarded medical reporter at the Albany Times Union and also wrote off and on for the Boston Globe. A series he co-wrote for the Boston Globe on harmful psychiatric research was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 1998. When he began his investigative research into psychiatric issues, Whitaker was still a believer in the story of progress that psychiatry has been telling the public for decades.
He said, "I absolutely believed the common wisdom that these antipsychotic drugs actually had improved things and that they had totally revolutionized how we treated schizophrenia. People used to be locked away forever, and now maybe things weren't great, but they were a lot better. It was a story of progress."
That story of progress was fraudulent, as Whitaker soon found out when he gained new insight from his research into torturous psychiatric practices such as electroshock, lobotomy, insulin coma, and neuroleptic drugs. Psychiatrists told the public that these techniques "cured" psychosis or balanced the chemistry of the brain.
But, in reality, the common thread in all these different treatments was the attempt to suppress "mental illness" by deliberately damaging the higher functions of the brain. The stunning truth is that, behind closed doors, the psychiatric establishment itself labeled these treatments as "brain-damaging therapeutics."
The first generation of antipsychotic drugs created a drug-induced brain pathology by blocking the neurotransmitter dopamine and essentially shutting down many higher brain functions. In fact, when antipsychotics such as Thorazine and Haldol were first introduced, psychiatrists themselves said that these neuroleptic drugs were virtually indistinguishable from a "chemical lobotomy."

Medicated in the cockpit: FAA says pilots on psych drugs can fly commercial airliners

NaturalNews) What would happen if the Columbine high school rampage shooters who were psyched out on mind-altering antidepressant drugs had been piloting a jet airliner instead? On Friday, the FAA issued a new rule that says pilots taking psychiatric medications are now allowed to pilot passenger airliners while medicated!

This "permission to fly while medicated" decision by the FAA covers pilots taking the antidepressant psychiatric drugs Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa and Lexapro. Not coincidentally, these are the same drugs that, in the minds of many industry observers, are linked to acts of aggression, suicide and mass murder. People on these drugs may simply lose touch with reality and feel like they're playing out a video game rather than acting out in the real world.

It begs the question: Why is the FAA putting medicated pilots in control of jet airliners? What happens if a psych drug medicated pilot suddenly thinks he's in a video game and aims his Boeing 767 at a civilian target "just for the fun of it?" Or what if he goes raving mad, strangles the copilot and then crashes the jet airliner nose-first into the ground?

It seems an obvious point: Mind-altering psychotropic drugs should have no place on the flight deck. Most people who do not have ties to the pharmaceutical industry would agree with that.

At the same time, it's not just pilots who have responsibility for the lives of the people, is it? Members of the U.S. Congress are also making decisions that impact the lives (and livelihoods) of a far greater number of people than airline pilots. So why are most members of Congress doped up, psyched out and mass-medicated with dangerous pharmaceuticals, too?

In a recent video that has become an overnight YouTube sensation, U.S. Congressman Hank Johnson from the 4th district of Georgia actually claimed that putting too many people on the island of Guam would cause the island to tip over and capsize:

It is obvious that politicians & judges should be tested for pharmacutical mind drugs and for treatment by the Mental Health Industry.(psychothreapy / mind control)

The provisions of Bush's (2004)(dirty deal) "Medical Privacy Act" which conseals and hide defective products and wrong doing by the medical / mental health industy from public disclosure would have to be waved.
