“I felt that anybody who would do anything like that should be told on”

I think that Michael Sarratt should have gotten life, this man he murdered James Dellinger was a very good man. He never bothered anyone. He always took care of his family. I know the Dellinger family personally and they are having a really tough time even though it has been 3 years. During Michael Sarratt's trial he showed no remorse, he did not shed a tear, it was as if he was not sorry for killing Mr. Dellinger, he made no comment to the family before he was sentenced. All he had on his mind was getting out of there, during the tril he passed his mother notes telling her to get him out of that hellhold. He would make comments thatit was like a 3 ring circus in there. My comment is, if he hadn't killed Mr. Dellinger he would not have been there, and if you do a crime you do the time, 3 ring circus or not.

James Dellinger would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He didnt have much money but that didnt bother James as long as his wife and family had food and a home he was ok. He and Virginia had been married for 34 years, they really loved each other very much. They had a son that James was very proud of. He loved his son very much. They would do yard work together, they shared their smiles and thoughts. James you will be missed very much. Your family thinks of you every day. Now that the sick person that did all the sick and violent thing to you is sentenced to 85 years, he has to live in the violence, prison is not a great place but he deserves to be placed with the worlds ugliest, meanest, and most dangerous people where he will have to fear and beg for his life everyday, just like James Dellinger begged this person known as a human on the night of January 3.

I personally know Michael Sarratt. I have a 8 year old daughter by him. I know exactly what he is capable of, and shame on SC for not putting this man away many years ago. His criminal background is pages long, he has been in and out of the system since he was a young boy. He is dangerous and a very sick individual. I took many beatings from this man, guns and knives held to me, while my infant looked on. I haven't seen Michael since he went to prison on Oct 25, 1999, that date sticks in my mind because that was my freedom day and my daughter and I made it out alive. I always knew he was capable of this, he threatned my life plenty of times. I guess I'm the lucky one. I have my life and Mr. Dellinger does not. Finally this man got SOME of what he deserved...life in Prison.
