After reading this article, I had to laugh that the owners are hoping that this location will be the first of many. If my experience is reflective of what American Pie Factory has to offer its clientele, then they won't be open too long. When we arrived at 7:30 pm, we noticed that they close at 8 pm on Sunday (and they are supposed to cater to families?) so we decided to be prepared to order when our waitress arrived as not to hold up the staff. We waited about 10 minutes before the hostess came over and asked if she could get our drinks and then the waitress brought them over. We asked her about the wing selection as there is no description of the wing sauces on the menu and she told us that the sauces we asked about were not hot. We ordered wings, pizza and cheese fries for the four of us. When the cheese fries arrived, there was no ketchup and the fries were reminiscent of the now defunct Hot 'N Now - tiny, tasteless, saltless and covered in cheese, bacon and onions. I am not partial to cheese fries covered in anything but cheese so I overlooked this as their specific way to prepare them. When the wings arrived, I could not eat them because both of the flavors we ordered were so hot that I had acid reflux within a matter of minutes and my mouth was on fire. During this time, it had turned 8 pm and I watched the front door as 4 separate parties came in to be seated and were turned away and told that they closed at 8 pm so they would have to leave!!! How does that promote a good reputation for a new business??? Anyway, the pizza arrived and we had ordered a white pizza that had garlic on it. It was mediocre at best - the flavor was okay but it was greasy and there was little garlic to taste. The waitress didn't come back except to deliver food and the check and I am sad to say that her tip reflected her customer service. We were never even asked if everything was satisfactory. American Pie Factory, I wish you luck because there is a LOT of improvements that need to be made - luckily the decor is good - you won't have to worry about making improvements there.

I agree with some of these complaints but as far as the closing time, if they close at 8pm then they close at 8pm. Restaurants are open to make money...they must have done their research and realized that the cost to stay open on Sunday past that time would outweigh whatever sales they may have. I work in a restaurant myself and it never fails to amaze me when customers get so bent out of shape when they come in one minute until the posted closing time and are unable to get food. For future reference, if a restaurant says they close at 8pm or 11pm or whenever...they close at that time.

My experience at American Pie Factory was completely opposite of the former. The food was wonderful. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. The first time we went we ordered the Tiger Shrimp, a Chicago Pizza, and wings that were "Gold Fever" and "Sweet Baby Ray" flavor. Everyone that went was impressed with the entire meal. We go often now to eat.
The service is always good and the managers go to all the tables to be sure everything is up to par. If things were not going well when they first opened you couldn't tell now. Everything is great.
I would highly recommend them to everyone.

We decided to try American pie for lunch after eading they would have a lunch buffet with pizza and wings. I feel that is a good way to judge food quality. We arrived at 1230, no Lunch Buffet, No lunch specials. We ordered two flavors of wings (medium and hot) niether was good, they were served just warm, almost from the microwave. The hot suace was way to hot, maybe they put the wrong suace on. Presentation was good. Service was great, however not a good meal. Total bill at lunch with (2) 8 peice wings, with water to drink $15 and change. Money not being the issue, however they should have a lunch special, like I say we went in to sample the pizza and wings, for future family visits.
Chances of a return visit for us, would be slim, it seems like the concept is there, seems they just need to work on the menu and food preparation.

"A lunch buffet, featuring pizza and wings, will be available Monday through Friday. During that time, customers still have the option of ordering from the full menu." Quote from Greenville news 3 weeks ago at opening

My entire family LOVED American Pie Factory! The service could have been better. But, the food was incredible! We had pizza, wings, and nachos and everything was great!

I highly recommend this restaurant.

My husband & I took our 5 adult children and 1 grandchild to American Pie Factory for lunch Sunday. We arrived around 12:45 and were seated promptly. The server was polite, somewhat friendly but not very personable. I asked 3 times before receiving additional napkins. The childrens menu is overpriced. We paid $15 for a 2 year old to play with hummus, bread sticks and a little ice cream. Among other things, we ordered a "CHICAGO STYLE PIZZA", which we presumed to be a deep dish Chicago style. It came with a very thin, fold-over crust..like NY style. Very confusing. In fact, the crusts for all 3 pizzas ordered was the same. We had to wait (while the pizza was getting cold) for the server to bring plates. She forgot. We paid $75+ for our meal. This is very overpriced for what we received.$2.00 per additional topping is excesive, as well as the children's menu. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

I am in disbelief. Absolutly the worst wings I have consumed anywhere I have been. Cheap bar wings hands down beat these. They have no decription on the suaces whatsoever, so unless you are a regular you will not have any idea of what you are getting. The wings come out lukewarm not steaming hot. This causes quite a good bit of cocern for me, knowing chicken must be cooked to a certian temp to kill germs. The waitress was nice but had no clue about the menu. Had a draft with my meal it was stale ale. I did not eat the pizza but it did not look appealling. Location nice, wish it was still Tony Romas, however it appears the owners/management have no experience in the market or just do not care.

My experience with this restaurant was good as far as the pizza goes, however it took a long time to get our food. Luckily we had a great server who was very attentive and personable. If it wasn't for her, I would not be as positive in my comments since it really did take forever to get 2 pizzas! We went in the evening. As for lunch, my friends went and said the same thing. They had to wait awhile but enjoyed the pizza. I will go back to try again as I usually give a new restaurant a second try if the food is good.

Tried this place out. Not shabby. The service was great and the food pretty good. As I was reading the menu I noticed that ALL their pizzas are NY thin crust which makes me laugh that some of you are "mad" because the Chicago isn't deep dish. Go to Pizza Hut and try to get a better pizza. Also, I see it as smart closing at 8 on a Sunday.

OK, you asked me to do this. R E S T A U R A N T.
You seem to struggle with the A U & U A in your spelling. Perhaps you need to take some night classes. Oh, one more thing, I don't use spell check.:)

The wife and I are American Pie fans. We've been showing up on several Friday's for happy hour. Great selections of beers on tap, and good happy hour prices. We sit at the bar, have a few pops, order apps (pretty good), then order a pizza to take home. Not the best pizza in town (Morretti's is our fave), but it's pretty good. The ambiance, bartenders, tv's, other patrons, food, and cold beer make for an enjoyable experience. An hour more here at work and I'm on my way.

My husband and I enjoy this restaurant. To those of you that complain about the sauces not having descriptions, just wondering if you've ever thought to ask for a sample of what you're interested in. To the one one who complained about not having ketchup with your cheese fries-who the hell eats ketchup with their cheese fries. I've had their cheese fries, they are delicious! We love their selection of wing sauces, much better than the new restaurant in town, Buffalos. You're out of luck if you're looking for a hot sauce that's mid-range there. We enjoy the restaurant and the atmosphere. It is very laid back, so expect that type of atmosphere. We've never had bad service. I think some people may expect too much out of a casual, wing & pizza place.
