Anyone who has been a member --- or past member --- knows inherently that this is propaganda. Neighbors ALWAYS complained when having a JW kingdom hall near them. It resulted in many complications from parking to early and constant door-knockings so the JWs could "start counting their service time." Unless of course the neighbor WAS a JW. ;)

Nothing nice can be said about Jehovah's Witnesses huh!? Anti-JW's are so entertaining!

If people only knew how jw's talk about people that live in neighborhoods where they build kingdum halls. The new one out here where they purposefully blocked the mountain views from a disabled man, a lot of jw's made fun of him

I guess we will just need to take your word as truth on that one because Witnesses are so well known for insulting paraplegics.

it depends on the hall-

some congo that have neighbors who complain are reminded by th elders to NOT MAKE A SOUND AS it were --when they go outside, watch how loud their voices are when talking in the parking lot etc

jw are very image conscience- group

concern about the WAY THEY LOOK many times --even though they look upon everyone as bird food,

they do want to maintain a squeaky clean appearance-

how they view and support their community is very different

for example -

when i was growing up their was a small over grown park that used to be nice in the day. Well folks had organized a CLEAN UP DAY - old tires cans bottle etc.

so a letter was sent to all local groups and churches asking if they had persons in their group who could participate so no one group of was left holding the bag

they recommended about half dozen folks from each church or community group

no jw Representative was sent and since no jw Representative was sent NO INDIVIDUAL JW FELT ANY NEED TO GO AS WELL

OF all the things that nonjw observe about jw is their complete lack of community involvement beyond hawking wt books

i find it funny how jw will announce WE SUPPORT WHEN THERE IS A DISASTER- which is good , but other groups support EVERYDAY-

GENERALLY SPEAKING IF THERE ARE NO JW INVOLVED JW WOULD NOT BE INVOLVED IN ANY ORGANIZE WAY

rarely will jw just PICKUP AND DONOTE TO SOMEONE SUFFERING SOMEWHERE AROUND THE WORLD without jw members being involved

they smile keep their halls neat, generally don;'t make alot of noise especially if its brought to there attention,

but beyond that a community or neighbor wil rarely if ever see a jw OUT OF a SUIT in the neighbor doing stuff

do you say anything nice about other denominations, people that give of their time, resources to help others, NO never heard it from any of you JW, it is the JW that have the hate of anyone that is not a JW, they cannot stand any scrutiny of their beliefs, and even when it is proven by their own literature, they deny, shut down make excuses.

If a JW prays to God and he gave them an answer and that answer must harmonize with the teachings of the org. If it doesn't they are forced to choose between obedience to God or obedience to the org.

conscience does not matter, its rules.

If they obey the org, they dishonor God by putting him in second place, where as God is the only way to salvation and obedience to him is the way, and if that conflicts with the WT then they are in a position of having to follow their God given conscience based on his word or face the repercussions of the org.

When if they put God first, they risk pubic humiliation, DF, shunning, lose of their religion, depression, loneliness and despair.

All religions have some false teachings including JW, its about people and their personal relationship with God, the God of love, no religion is the way, none! the only way is showing love and the example of the good Samaritan is the way onto the narrow road, not by religion that is not what Jesus taught, its by loving your neighbor and when you do that you show your love for God, not for anything you can get back as a reward, but because you are in the light and know God of mercy regardless of what religion you are.

Jesus never taught anyone could be saved by a religion, God is the judge of hearts and many in different religions are honest and doing what they can because the love God

So, just so we can wrap this thread up...
a few years ago, there was an assembly hall being built and the neighborhood was very concerned about a number of issues.
Now however, those neighbors admit that their fears did not come to frutation and that this hall did not cause the issues that they were concerned with.
So, to counter this story, individuals come on this thread and attempt to bash the Witnesses anyway.
As I said, its funny.

No one needs to 'bash' Jehovah's Witnesses because they do a good job of 'bashing' themselves with their behavior, attitudes and contempt for everyone who is not a Jehovah's Witness.

How do you know that it isn't a 'fluff' piece and the reporter who wrote the article is not a Jehovah's Witness?

My comment was from the source that teaches you what to believe...

Your attending study meetings at the Kingdom Hall, especially the weekly Bible study, as discussed in The Watchtower, will build you up spiritually.

Without such association and help one takes up corrupting association with worldlings, and thus oneís mind is open to the assault of Satanís demons.

I noticed that the reporter did not interview the original complainants...

http://www.denverpost.com/ci_16411460

"I'm angry at the situation," said Carrelle DeSimone, who lives in Serenity Ridge, which is across the street from the proposed assembly hall. "There's a right place to build that, and it's not here."

The property had been slated for the second phase of the Serenity Ridge neighborhood, which was to include a pool and clubhouse.

But the original developer went out of business and the new group that bought it from the bank is negotiating a sale to the Jehovah's Witnesses.

When Serenity Ridge was developed by Neumann Homes of Illinois, there was was an agreement to build a pool and clubhouse adjacent in the next phase of the project.

But after Richard Frank and his group bought the property, they let an August deadline pass for the clubhouse and pool in the original site plan.

I suppose there is the possibility that the reporter is also a Witness... I suppose.
How do YOU know that this isn't a legitimate follow up story?

SHOCKING!!!!!!
a reporter did a report and then the SAME reporter did a follow up report.
Oh... I know, I know...
In between reporting, he became a Witness and now only reports "good" Witness stories.
Hows that?

Priceless PC of official teaching of the Jw denomination going back 50 yrs and THIER view is the same today as it was then towards others

If you are a nonjw who works with a Jw
Lives next to a Jw or even has a Jw in the family or you go to school with Jw kids

This is how they view you

Sad is it not ???

As jw we talked trash about folks all the time as seen in this quote

"""Worldlings """

Lol

When you show stuff like this to coworkers and nonjw in general they immediately grasp why Jw do the things they do. THEY LOOK DOWN ON ALL OTHERS who don't agree with THIER pamphlets

Why is it that the media is wonderful if they print a puff piece about the JWs, but, if the article is not favorable towards the JWs, then the media is considered to be controlled by Satan?

Ummmm..... An apostates brought this up.
A similar question might be:
"How come a fluff price about Witnesses is obviously a plant bit a news article negative about Witnesses is "so typical of how horrible all Witnesses are".
The reality is that this was a follow up report and you apostates are furious that it is not trashing the Witnesses.

No big deal, people will still be able to deliver food and clothing and money to the church across the street from the kingdum hall or right next door since most other churches are open most of the time whereas kingdum halls are only open 4 hours a week.
