I think the kid should be put in jail along with his parents because if you look at hte video, the officer had to risk his life to get to the student in a mob of crazy students. Alos the students, if it was not for the teachers would have jumped in and beat the officer down and probably would have killed him! This is an example of sending a novice to a position of authority - you don't. Their should have been a certified officer on the scene who has experience in dealing with crowds and youth. An experienced officer would have backed off and called 911 or backup for help. The kid should be suspended or receive some kind of punishment for his behavior because if you attack any law enforcement offical after he pulls a gun on you then you are a dangerous loose cannon. It also seems that the kid had fully surrender to the officer but why the officer was pulling his gun was a little overkill. I would have used that mase to stop them kids from trying to rush me. Obvisouly the officer thought that the mob of kills was going to kill with a beat down. If I was him I would sue the state or county for putting me into a situation where i could have possibly been injured or killed. It also looks as if this was a high school that is out of control. i bet you mississippi will change that certification law now man!!!

As a graduate of GHS, Class of '69, I'm shocked at what the public school system has become. Having worked in the state penitentiary for 20 years, I can tell you first hand (from viewing the footage) that was a riot in the making...I'm just glad that it didn't boil over into one.

Instead of sueing for a million dollars, that kid and his family, who obviously didn't know how to raise him, should be put in the pen themselves. When they lose this rediculous suit, I hope G'wood will countersue them for court costs and all monies lost on such friviolity.

I'm happy to say I live in a county in MS who does not, nor does the neighboring county, have private schools where the kids can go to avoid such.

Both of you, Mr. Bean and Big Daddy Cole. You haven't send the whole tape. All you all send is a part of the tape. I still say Mr. Wiggins was wrong for his action. Put yourself in that child shoes, you would have did the samething. And do nothing to get his self killed. And thats was one of your kids or child, I would have said postive things for him. And not talk agaist your kids. Just think one day this might happen to u or your kid. Only the GOOD LORD know whats best for this case. And Judge Roy Bean for you to say something like that you went to GHS. And back in your days you was too afraid to do anything. Because the police had you afraid as well and you all could do anything about it. This 2007 and people don't have to take anything off of anybody. GHS is a good school, and I went GHS myself. The police did come out to the school as well. And look at me am not a bad person and I don't talk about other peoples business. All I would and will say "That was wrong for what that office did." And don't say anthing else about it. Just like my grandmother always said, The Good Lord will take care of everything.
And I have a question for you. Why did you leave Greenwood in the first place. And one more thing,I bet you anything; You know Mr. Wioggins very well. LEAVE IT IN THE GOOD LORD HANDS, HE THE ONLY PERSON KNOW WHATS BEST.

As a former graduate of GHS in the 60's, I speak from experience in saying that students respected their teachers and principal and knew if we got into trouble, more trouble awaited at home!We were not afraid for there was nothing to fear. We did not have "attitude." Back then, kids could walk to the park, play in the yard after dark but those days, sadly, are forever gone. Returning to Greenwood occasionally, it's a shock to see our old neighborhood and security in a grocery store. The fact that a policeman is needed in *school* speaks volumes.
