Greenwood Resident

Blue Springs, MO

Our subdivision pool opened yesterday and of course we had some people coming in from outside the subdivision to swim in the pool. When these individuals were confronted by a couple of residents of the subdivision they became irrate and very agressive. Even confronted one of the residents on his front porch and when asked to leave backed out through the individuals yard destroying some of the landscape, and repeated this a couple more time before taking off, throwing pop cans, and flying out of the subdivision at a very high rate of speed. These guys, approximately 18-25 years in age then came back, with more guys, and their grandparents, in 2 vehicles this time. So we're all out in the driveway of the individual who was confronted by these thugs trying to make sense of what just happened when we see the vehicles come flying back into the subdivision towards his house. At this point, not knowing what is going to happen he calls the police. The vehicles come to a screaching hault in front of his house and they all jump out yelling and screaming that they "own" the subdivision and they can do what they want in here. The grandpa by the way wreaked of alcohol and was very agressive towards anyone that made eye contact with him. So the police arrive and "the grandpa" as we'll call him because nobody knows his actual name, attacked one of the police officers, bit his arm and resisted arrest in every way he could try to get away from the officer, and when I say bit the officer, it brought blood and the officer eventually had to go to the hospital. They eventually had to throw grandpa to the ground and taser him to get him to calm down, in the meantime the kids and grandma where screaming and yelling at the cops and pushing them around, so they too were cuffed to get everyone to calm down enough to give statements and figure out what was going on.
Now for the reason I'm posting the story, after all of this has gone on for a couple hours, and police departments from all over the county show up, everyone gives written statements, the Greenwood police Chief comes rolling in. Apparently he knows the individuals causing all the problems because we see handshakes, how ya doin'?, good to see ya again?, the whole nine yards and then one by one we see the handcuffs coming off and people going home. Apparently this family used to own the land that was sold to the builder and developer who built Dalinda Estates and they still think they "own" the property. And, as rumors flew through the subdivision as we all stood there watching this injustisce unfold, the police chief is retiring July 1st and knows this family, and in place of taking the chance of facing a lawsuit from them, decided to let them all go with a ticket for trespassing.
SO...my question is, what can we do? Someone assaulted a police officer, the struggle was bad enough that the man had to be tasered to be taken into custody, and because of the good ol' boy system, he walks!!?!?!? Not only that but they came in here to harass residents that live here and they shouldn't be in here in the 1st place! What's the point in calling the police? Not only was this wrong, but now this family, who just lives right outside the subdivision knows they can pretty much do what they want in here and get a free pass by the Greenwood Police Dept.
If anyone can give me some advice on who I need to contact, or what I can do so that this doesn't happen again (something legal) please let me know. I moved out here in hopes of raising my family in a small, peaceful, community where we could feel safe and secure and not have to worry about things like this and this was and is not part of the plan!
Sorry for the lengthy post...

Sorry thats not what you do. You wait till next time one of those low life sons of bitchs come onto your property. "You said they came into your backyard" and you shoot them in the head. Everyone that has lived in greenwood "even been threw greenwood" knows that the entire "police force" is all crooked and a joke, I think everyone in greenwood should riot on these basterds and make them leave. My opinon, someone back me up.
