1 A person (with or without a clean record) intending to kill someone is not going to obey a gun control law. A student planning to kill students or teachers (at school) is not going to obey a law that prohibits guns on school property. Gun control laws apply only to peaceful people, criminals ignore them. Where guns are banned, only the bad people have the guns. Chicago's handgun ban is proving my point today, tonight, and tomorrow thru Sunday, just watch the news. |

2 Before anyone screams "RACIST!", I found that crimes went up and down across the races and social lines. I was not singling out just minorities. I also found that the higher the population density, the greater the crime rate. NOLA has both population density and ethnic/social mixing. In the past, they had a lower crime rate (not low by the measure of anyone sane, but lower than now) because the various populations to a limited measure, self segregated. This has changed in recent years. My thesis was torn up and tossed in the Dean's trash can. I wrote a new one re: Girl Scout cookie sales and the reflection of transitory dips in local/regional economy on their sales numbers.(Yeah, I was pissed and it showed. It was the first time the whole "Don't talk about the elephant in the room" was rubbed in my face due to PC sensibilities. Kumbaya MFer!) . . . . . . . Go ahead Socialist idiots. Report me to the staff. I am a bad person for not pretending I am blind and deaf like everyone else. |

1 Umm. Guns start out as inanimate objects. They end as inanimate objects. Where do you come from where they feel guns are the same as people. Wait, you must be one of those liberals. Did you know that the majority off felons in prison are Democrats? Perhaps that is why you want to disarm law abiding citizens. You cannot afford to lose any more constituents. |

Almost all murders that cross over cultural lines are committed by Jabronies .I cant remember the last time a Jabroni was killed in my area by another ethnic group in the last thirty years.

1 The Prohibition on cocaine makes buying and selling it lucrative. If cocaine were legal crime rates would plummet. People who sell cocaine on the street are literally murdering their competition (down the street). The demand for cocaine (for example) comes from the middle and upper class; the lower class sell it. Selling cocaine is just too lucrative for the lower class to resist. And the fact that it's illegal makes it even more suitable for the lower class urbanite to buy and sell it. The geography of the city aids the cocaine seller by helping the seller deter detection by police (in the act of selling it and in killing the competition). The city geography also increases anonymity for the buyer, reducing their risk of detection by police. The more the govt (police) crack down on illegal drug trading, the more lucrative it is to buy and sell it. As the profitability of illegal drug selling increases, so will the incentive to literally murder (eliminate) the competition. After police confiscate a sizeable quantity of illegal drugs (marijuana or cocain) the supply of it declines (temporarily) and then the price of it increases, making the buying and selling of it even more lucrative. Drug dealers actually want police to catch (arrest) other drug sellers because it helps eliminate competition AND raises the selling price. Gun crime associated in big cities is only a symptom of the bigger problem of drug trading. If marijuana and cocain were legal, gun crime would drop (gun control laws are unneccessary). Gun control by govt exacerbates the bigger problem of drug trading by creating another (lucrative) blackmarket (buying and selling of guns), and by increasing crime rates. The blackmarket for guns encourages theft, especially burglary. Gun buybacks also encourage burglary (unintentionally creating more victims). Gun buybacks should be outlawed. The govt's immoral and futile war on drugs (and guns) harms more people than it protects. Mandatory attendance laws for public schools increases the chances for school shootings and assaults at schools. High crime rates (in big cities) are caused by the govt. |

1 I agree. Before we legalize drugs we first should legalize guns, because after they lose their drug sales, they'll go back to burlgarizing, robbing, and lootin. Our govt has created a culture of violence, paternalism, welfarism and dependence. |

Why thank you eyes wide shut, well have all those blacks in the ghettos shooting each other to thank for having this honor bestowed on us, I am sure. |

Granted, but they will need to commit less crime to feed their old expensive habits. Habits that once were hundreds of dollars a day would become 10's of dollars a day. And I am all for people having the unfettered right to buy a gun. If they misbehave with that gun, I am all for judicial or natural consequences. As long as the average citizen has the right and meets the responsibility of maintaining their own self defense, the "armed criminal" will have difficulty staying in business. Leaving the polive todo their job. Enforcing the law. It is up to us to explain to the unenlightened when the Government is using law to infringe on a right. Keep on posting. Some of your posts have been sheer poetry. |

1 One other benefit of decriminalizing drugs is that it would help re introduce natural selection back to the gene pool. Some people would abuse the availability (like alcoholics) but the opportunity to earn Darwin Awards are much higher on drugs. While cynical and not likely to occur, if the idiot drug addicts that were offing themselves via OD, and they included driving, they could take out someone else. While this would be tragic, these drug addicts might also take out the unlucky, the unwary and the elderly. In nature, this is good for the tribe or herd. Of course I think the penalties for driving under the influence should be upped. That kind of misbehavior shows a great disregard for others. |
