it was well known last year that cook was being told to leave. think about it. where is he going and what will he be doing? working in a law firm doing work he has never done. wouldn't you want someone with some expertise if you hire him? I guess not. The whole city of indianapolis is a corrupt environment. you have attorneys breaking laws, and no one prosecuting them. you have sheriffs breaking the law by driving around in stolen vehicles, and you have policemen breaking the laws everyday. judges are incompetent and pompous, and council members are elected to congress without any experience, just by birthright. what a joke.

There are no changes. The office is drastically improved in professionalism and in the service provided to its clients. I fear a heavy handed approach will significantly affect the office for the worse and cause mass defections.
The PD Agency is "drastically improved in professionalism and in the service provided to its clients"??? Since when? Yesterday, last week, last month, last year, five years ago, since the Agency was created?

Why do you fear a "heavy handed approach?" In what way do you think that Bob Hill would use such an approach at the PD Agency? Make you show up for work or for court on time? Maybe require that you actually use your benefit leave time for the time on the Agency clock that you spend representing your private clients?

You need to move. Find a perfect city and enjoy
the good life. It isn't going to happen here.

I smell righteous indignation.

It's about time you woke up. The world can be a very, very gray place, and the behavior of people in it and the motivations behind their behavior have changed very little over time. Quit complaining about Indianapolis and worry about the only things you can change or should care about: your own actions and attitudes.

And many of them would if the public defender agency didn't control 80% of the criminal practice in this city. It has made nearly all private attorneys dependent on the public defender for a significant percentage of their income.

I just would like the Full time public defenders who are practicing privately in other counties and courts to let the public know who they are.

There should be a seperate posting area for the cowardly that want to make incendiary accusations and slander anonymously. I know some of the worset on here are lawyers and such lack of character, conviction, and spine renders them the least lawyerly. If you say what you believe or believe what you say stabnd behind it..put your name on it.

Let's see 26 capital cases with no executions...yeah that's not much work. He does more pro bono than the ones trying to hurt him, his wife and family.

Give me one person by name who will stand scrutiny on your outrageous sexually connotated accusations or shut up.

Rumor is Bob Hill was appointed by the Ed Tracey and the democratic majority board with the direction to get rid of all private practice with the hopes the attorneys leave. This is being done to push the remaining attorneys over their case loads so that the county will loose federal funding for the defender's office and then the democrats can turn this against Ballard next election even though he has nothing to do with it at all.

Ha ha ha serves you lazy lawyers right for trying to do extra work when you are already overpaid for doing nothing.

I said don't do it anonymously..I didn't say to start impersonating people. I would say if you are going to impersonate me you might actually look at the real post so you could spell my name right..or are you too stupid to copy?

But to the impersonator I say bring it on...any forum any time.

Also what is a Spitzer?

Hey Bob at least I got them off of you.

Wow. Ignorant doesn't even begin to cover your comment. Most in the PD's office are terribly underpaid for the work they do...which, by the way, is protecting everyone's rights, not just those of the accused. What I was offered to work there wouldn't even pay my student loans.

Why don't you vent your anger at the judges who appoint public defenders to cases for people who truly are not indigent. They appoint PDs because they know the public defender will move to expedite the case, as opposed to many private attorneys who continue their cases for months and months waiting to finally get paid, and then withdraw after 11 months for not getting paid. They are the ones who bog down the system. It isn't that difficult to be a full time public defender and take on a few private criminal cases a month. You should know, because I'm guessing you are a private attorney who thinks that PD's are taking some of your potential clients.

The board selected the person they wanted, period. All those attorneys that are carrying private loads are playing games with the case load requirements as it is. Either do the job Full Time, or take a part time contract like Mr. Hill, Mr. Hennessey, and just about everyone who was an applicant to the position. As far as the rest of your post goes, it was simply delusional.
