This is from another thread - seems it needs more discussion

Thanks for your mindless smartass comments. You missed the point. It is obvious Gabbard has influrnce in this town, just look how well the people he endorsed did. On the other hand the peole that Edwards supported got clobbered in the votes. I counted 8 editions of the Greenwood Rag that he was supporting people in, Gabbard wrote 1 leter.
Doc Johnson was suppose to win by a landslide, instead he squeks a win through. Obviously not all the firemen or his family voted for him. He won by 140 votes. Cut that in half and add one vote to it to make 71 votes. If those 71 votes would have been for Hicks, Hicks would have won by one vote.
Numbers don't lie

You are right. People in this town have a really bad taste in thier mouth for anything Ken Edwards has anything to do with. This election and the mass failures of those he endorsed is proof in the pudding.

The election was illegal in the first place. The "wards" that were drawn were never certified by a survey. Against state law. If I were Hicks, I'd be consulting a lawyer.

...and just think. Once this election has been invalidated (and it will be) and there are enough votes to oust the other Edwards crony, the newspaper man will be a whopping 0-4 with his endorsements. I think I'd start going to those morning prayer meetings at the city offices if I wanted to hang my start on a winning team.

They are putting themselves out of office. Not because of any endorsement, of their own actions. The people of Greenwood are not completely stupid, they can see and hear, they don't have to have someone tell them to vote for or not vote for.

At best you can say this town is split down the middle just like our country. Both sides should pay attention.
What is sad is their should have been 6,000 people vote in the election which included electing a President but just 3,000 votes were cast.

I can agree with you, but let me go a little further. Stop slamming the citizens of this fine town in the /greenwood Rag. According to the last issue, Edwards is still trying to divide the town. You would think he would have learned, as Voter said, We the voters see and hear what's really going on. We are not dumb, nor are we goats to be lead around by a bunch of lies.

Enough is enough, it is time to heal this Ciy and do what is best for the people, not our buddies! All the people own this city, not a select few.

Put your money where your mouth is if you can get the filth out of it. Whoever are you trying to impress with your garbage mouth. It is not working!
Oh by the way, show me where your name is listed in any phone book, utility bill, drivers license, or any other form of ID as The Whistleblower and I will agree it is Your Name. Until then you can stop whinning.
And for your information the election commission says the re-districting is legal. Try calling Mr. Huff with your stupid claims. I would love to hear that conversation.

The recent election showed just how much power and influence Ken Edwards doesn't have over this town. 85% of the people he endorsed LOST!!!!!!

He and that rag he calls a paper have influence over only 15% of the town. His respect and influence in this town is just like his practicing law and political career, washed up, reduced to nothing, been taken away from him.

Par for the Course.

You are right about the people the paper endorsement, but the number of votes were almost 50%.
And whether you like his paper or not he has a larger circulation than the Democrat.
