Yes! The city is too progressive for his insipid mind. If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. He has never been part of the solution! Good riddance!

The better question is, how does he even get elected?

I don't want to sound mean, but this guy is not what a public servant represents.

Life for us all would be better. This man has too much time on his hands and spends it in the most counter productive ways. He is now supporting Gary Pettway? Like sands through an hour glass, so are the days of our lives!

Poor Greenwood. I have met people there and know they are smarter than to relect Jim Newcomb ever again, or elect Gary Pettway for that matter since the two of them are on the same team now. Poor Gary Pettway!

Mr. Newcomb has become a huge problem for the city. It is my understanding that he is now targeting the police chief and his department. I know they have a had a couple of bad seeds, who hasn't. I know recently I watched the news with Ft. Smith and Van Buren having investigations on officers. Sounds like the chief was fast to dismiss the bad officers. I believe the Chief is doing an outstanding job and has made vast improvements towards a professional police department. It is ten steps higher then what the last chief had it at. If any officers from Greenwood read this, keep your heads up and he will not get elected again. I think Pettway should thank Newcomb for his endorsement, he has lost this vote because of it! Who has the time to crawl around in a ghillie suit anyway?

Why bother even asking the question! This man has consistantly demonstrated that he is a menace to this community and has an agenda that does not reflect the wants of this community. Having said that, show me a canidate that has Greenwood's best intrest at heart and you have my vote. We DON'T need a Jim Newcomb Regional Park, nor do we need a councilman who would defame others to satisfy their personal interests. By the way, coffee shop talk is just that. Why waste your time with this puppet.
Further comment: I agree with Bill.

I spoke with someone at the local Diner and they told me this guy writes letters to the editor and uses other peoples name so it will get published. What a loser! I have to ask this question: Who actually claims to have voted for this self serving 2 dollar politician?

Who would ever vote yes for this guy? He needs to move to a different city if you ask me!

Bill, you are exactly right. Chief Jackson has such great integrity and I admire his strength and leadership. Yes, he has had a "few bad seeds" as you said, but he immediately took care of the problem. He can't hold the hands of the officers, but he can certainly hold them accountable and his actions show he does just that. Our police department has come a long way since Chief Jackson has been in town. Maybe he should run for Mayor??

Chief Jackson for Mayor!!!

Whoever thinks Newcomb should run for council again is delusional! Go to a city council meeting and watch the guy in action. I have lived here a long time and remember when he was a thorn in Mayor Campbell's side, and now Mayor Edward's side. Now, don't confuse the issues,I think both are horrible Mayors, but Newcomb doesn't help matters...only hinders.

I can tell you from personal experience that Jim Newcomb is one, actually make that THE, most self serving, dishonest, cheating, destructive scum bags that I've ever been around. He has destroyed everything good that people have tried to do in this town by "playing" auditor (he lost his fraud auditor license for illegal activity) and running off the honest people that were actually trying to "serve" the town for the towns sake and not their own. the day his is gone and out of greenwoods news can't come soon enough!

And if he finds this site he will do the same here. He has nothing better to do all day that to create controversy and collest his government check for being "disabled"

Yep...cost Pettway the election. Just as I thought. Pettway may need to think about that next time!

Newcomb should resign at the next council meeting, effective immediately. If he loved the city like he professes, then he would set it free. If you love something and set it free and it comes back to you, then it is yours to keep. However, if you set it free and it never comes back, then it was never yours to begin with. If Newcomb sets the city free, I promise it will never look for him again!

I agree with Wet Wipe, funny name Wet Wipe! Mr. Newcomb should just call it quits and go back to whatever it is that he does when he is not causing problems. His cape has some tears in it and it's time for him to give up on saving the day!

Looks like Mr. Newcomb should listen to the people...well, at least those on here. Looks like he doesn't have much support, but again that's just on here.
