Cambridge elections feature board races
#1 Mar 17, 2009
I was a trustee for one term(by choice). I ran on a specific agenda, which included ideas such as clean the brook, return a complex wrongfully purchased to the tax rolls, build a village garage for a reasonable sum, properly staff and manage a police force, review the dpw needs and staffing, review and fairly adjust the benifits paid (very) part time board members, retain an attorney familiar with village issues for a reasonable fee, AND hire a sole assessor for the village needs. All of this was accomplished in my one term. While I no longer live in the village, I can assure the people of the village that a village assessor is their only answer, as there are two towns in the village, each with it's own unique needs and assessment roles. While they are at it, it might be time to evaluate the actual costs of the combined police department.
