Yeah but I am a believer of the native american old belief of when you see an owl during the day it usually means death is close by. That would freak me out. Beautiful birds, I agree. but if I am going to see it during the day I want it to be in a zoo. Well not really, I hate that animals are captured like that. however, I understand sometimes it is good for the endangered species.
This may be a special situation being the bird may have fallen out of the tree however I still think it would have found a more secluded area to live until it can fly. They do not like to be out in the open during the day.

Prowling Owls

Big deal. I had a family of Barred owls living in my yard (in Easton) for two months a few summers ago. Once the owl family moved in, they were always around. The owls especially liked to greet me in my driveway in the evening when I got home from work from a perch on the post lamp. I also had Barred owls living on my property in Wilton, where I resided for 14 years, and would often see them up close and personal...on my deck.

Oh yes Coyotes are running rampant through my yard and drinking out of my pool and lounging on my deck.
