VA falling short on medical care for female veterans

It's not just female veterans who have problems having their bills paid by the VA. A relative was misdiagnosed with a potential life threatening problem and was transferred to a critical care hospital in a VA contracted ambulance. He was examined and released in less than 24 hours. It took almost a year for the VA to pay the bill and resulted in multiple "dings" on his credit report. He's still trying to have them all removed or submit an explanation for each one.
