Is there any talk out there already about who is going to run?

Not sure. How many years has Joe been in office?

Who is Rocky Allen and why do you think he might be Franklin's next mayor?

Why do you say that? He has been reelected for 16 years, ten years as mayor? Some people must support him! I am just wondering as a concerned citizen, but I am not a supporter of anyone past or present. Just trying to get a feel for the political scene here.

Who are some of the people you would be supporting for mayor, RR10, and why? Do you live in Franklin, and are you a voter here?

Gordon,

I have lived within Franklin's city limits for decades. I wish Bobby Kuppers was a town resident because he is the sharpest leader we have. Joe was actually a pretty good leader. He can be a real smartass and it rubs some people the wrong way.

What we need is the antithesis of Higdon. We need someone who can move progressively despite our austere circumstance.

Denton Higdon? LOL! You are kidding? He talked about running last time, got 0 support.

What would be wrong with Denton? He'd be a welcome relief.

I don't hear much about any real candidates. Just jokes.

Paul Higdon is a county commissioner, not a Franklin alderman.

Ricky, what is "austere" about our "circumstance"? We seem to be plentifully supplied with money for recreation facilities and TDA and TDC tax dollars to support the Smoky Mountain Center.

Our schools are having to cut teachers. Coaching supplements are being diminished. It is no longer worth the wage to drive a bus to a sporting event. These facts paint a circumstance of austerity.

I am well aware Higdon is a commissioner. I also know it takes no leadership or talent to be a right-wing hack. We have not had an upgrade to the pool facilities in over 50 years.

Please tell us Joe what we should be talking about. Without you we are aimless imbecilles.

Any new candidate names coming forth? Either there are none or I am far out of the loop and hearing none. Who are some people who might run and fix our "austere" circumstances?

Word down at Mulligans and the Factory is that they plan to pick the next mayor, now that they have taken over the TDA and TDC tourist money, they need their own man as mayor and more offices on town government so they can officially make Franklin into the kind of place they want it to be, their own private town.

Bob Scott will be the next Mayor.

Sissy Patillo is running, but she will look like a fool when the final vote tally is in.

Sissy does not need to run for mayor in order to look like like a fool. She's had that reputation for years. Bob Scott is level headed but always in the minority. Franklin does not go for leavel headed people.

Just about everybody is saying that Bob Scott will be next mayor.

Don't hear much about the others for aldermen.
