Do these people just get layed off and cast aside so that younger people replace them? What is going on with our society. Just discard people over 50 who are professionals and have been working since their 20s and are perfected in performance of anything they do.

I am with you. The AARP needs to get involved with this across the country and so should our President. It is not right to lay off people just before retirement. I know it is hard to prove it, but this is the trend now since the economic downfall... to basically hire younger people and to pay them less money. Then when you interview or send your resume in with years of experience, this is how they can tell how old you are and not even have the courtesy to respond like a professional employer used to do with some type of a "regret letter". I bet some of the middle aged 50ish people could outdo any of the younger generation with "work ethic".

Well, where are they? Are people under 50 now being replaced from the economic downfall? Anyone have the statistics?

How can we support ourselves on part-time jobs much less our students who are trying to go to your Greenville, NC colleges? The colleges need to start hiring senior citizens full time to assist, not just students to fill positions in all capacities. If the mother or father does not have employment, college town statistics will drop because parents cannot affort to send their children to "state" colleges.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Aquarius

Diplomacy is your middle name today, so make the most of it while it lasts. It will be just what you need if you've been waiting for the right time to raise a tricky topic with you-know-who, and it will also come in handy if you're caught up in a potentially sensitive conversation with someone and you want to extricate yourself as smoothly as possible.
