It was and remains our understanding that agreeing to those requirements was a condition of being allowed to work in those areas...... based on the uncertainty of union requirements that we could not agree to and the uncertainty of whether a resolution could be reached...."
And the article said that the purpose of that was to make sure that they had proper safety credentials before they could be put to work. They never made it to New Jersey. They stayed in Virginia and in the meantime, crews from other areas began working in Jersey. Unions strictly enforce safety regulations. I suppose you have heard the term "liability" before? Not cherry picking. Why would Alabama Power make that statement if it weren't true? Fox News is the cherry picker.

".....at no time were our crews turned away from the ulitities in Seaside Heights". Alabama Power. Kind of says it all. Fox News (as usual) takes a little information first reported on an Alabama TV station and spins it to the right.
I also see that the left wing, state run media failed to mention that the unions required them to sign documents agreeing to union affiliation in order to work. Typical liberal spin!

Pitch forks, mowing scythes and guillotines improved a disfunctional French government. What will it take to fix ours?

Oh yeah, right. Union companies have impeccable safety records while non-union companies have employees dying by the boat load. We need you to agree to join the unions and pay your union dues while you work in our state so we can make sure you're SAFE! Bullsh!t!!! LMAO :D
Please explain how the union would be "liable" if a non-union utility company from out of state were to have an accident?

The state of New Jersey would be liable for the injury of any person and it would be a factor to them of the certifications and qualifications of those working in their state. Rather ironic and hypocritical that you fight for these Alabama worker to work in the state of New Jersey when you give them no rights of security of their jobs in their own state where they could be fired anytime. The union does give this security. The typical Republican double standard.

<quoted text> Many believe Obama's philosophy isn't much different than Hitler's. When you look in depth, they're eerily similar.
So the socialism part of Hitler was the bad part and the racism the good part?
Silver says that he agrees with some of Hitlers points. I see it is not any of his points on socialism, and I can see he agrees on his points on racism.

I challenge that claim.
It has been a while since we discussed an immigration issue, but I though she was against drivers licences for illegals. If my memory is correct, that makes her on the right of an immigration issue.

Pro, I will direct this question to you: Now that it's apparent that everyone but the people that need the relief money is standing with their hand out, including NASCAR, the shame of it all. Getting to the question now: Do people that own these homes not have homeowner's insurance? I know it's very expensive to live close to a body of water and almost dang impossible to get insurance without having to donate a kidney for it, but shouldn't the insurance companies of everyone i.e. homeowners, business owners, the city and state have insurance that would cover a good amount of these costs?
Insurance does not always cover what you would think it does. Welcome to the free market.
So when the free market fails the people, they turn to the government for help.
Now we can see the conservatives are against helping the citizens in need as usual.
Is it just greed, or a general lack of empathy?

<quoted text> Just a few examples where they are eerily similar...
Hitler enforced strict gun control, which made their agenda possible and highlights the necessity of an armed populace.
Obama is for strict gun control...
Hitler praised public education,“ A fundamental reconstruction of our whole national education program” controlled by Berlin. Similar to liberals’ cradle to career ideal, Hitler established state administered early childhood development programs; “The comprehension of the concept of the State must be striven for by the school as early as the beginning of understanding."
Obama is for the same beliefs including early childhood development programs...
Hitler idealized public service and smothered private charity with public programs.
Obama is all for public/govt programs while smothering private buisnesses....
Hitler’s election platform included “an expansion on a large scale of old age welfare.” Nazi propaganda proclaimed,“No one shall go hungry! No one shall be cold!” Germany had universal healthcare and demanded that “the state be charged first with providing the opportunity for a livelihood.”
Obama would relish such a “jobs” program while instituting National Healthcare/Obamacare....
Hitler's National Socialist economics were socialist, obviously, imposing top-down economic planning and social engineering.
Obama believes in the same "top down" approach....
And the list goes on and on....
Obama's record on gun control does not show him being strict at all on the issue, so stop with the lies.

Now on to the other issues. Yes, Hitler was for helping the people. That is how he got power. Unfortunately he had some other ideas on race that lead to horrible attrocities.

Now I doubt Obama has some secret agenda on a holocaust.

Show one quote from Obama and substitute the words and lets see if it works the way you claim.
I doubt you will be able to accept the challenge.
Conservatives think Obama condemns capitalism, but he does not. It is a lie the right wing propagandists have propogated. You are just so guillible, you believe it with blind faith.

Then it should've been up to the state of NJ to determine whether or not they met the proper criteria/qualifications, NOT the unions. Bottom line is that the union thugs wanted to get paid, they didn't give a damn about safety.
I was supporting the AL workers only because of a disaster that occurred and their willingness to volunteer to help. I find it ironic and hypocritical that you preach how we should love, support, and help thy neighbors.....but only if they agree to your union demands.
Therein lies the problem with your unions, they allow those who perform well below the job standards to keep their employment.....as long as they continue to pay their union dues,(and I know you have some fellow co-workers who should've retired years ago to make way for younger, smarter, brighter teachers).
BTW, AL is a right to work state. That means ANY employee is allowed to join a union if they choose, they just can't be FORCED to join a union regardless of their wishes.
Concerning someone being fired, I always told my employees that I had never fired anyone...people fire themselves!

Insurance covers what you pay for, maybe people should read the fine print and quit blaming everyone else for their problems. It's hard to have empathy for someone elses stupidity. It's called self-responsibility.
