The Chief of the Cherokee went to the county commissioners to enlist their help to take the mound away from the town and the town board isn't too happy about it.

The cherokees have that casino raking in millions,so let them pay for it;that is if the town wants to sell it.Some historians think the mounds were built even before the cherokee by another civilization.

Franklin don't seem to think enough of it to keep it up though, to take care of it. It is a headache for the Town Board. A political football just like everything else there. Something to fight over. The people of Franklin deserve better than whats happening to them. Things are so changed the last 5 or 10 years. And not for the better.

I wonder why the Indian Mound has not become an issue in this year's election. Do both sides think it is a losing issue?

Which candidates are in favor of returning the mound to the Cherokee?
