Old levee breaches in Mississippi as main embankment holds
An old earthen Mississippi River levee near Greenville, Miss. collapsed overnight, causing flood water to pool in a rural area and the river level at the city to fall slightly, officials said Saturday.

Just curious, where is this old levee breach? This is the first I've heard of it and a friend called me about it.

The only levee breaching I have heard about in the last couple of days is actually near Lake Providence, LA. It was the "old" levee, or the levee that was built prior to 1927. It was being kept up by some area farmers, who were trying to save their crops...
