After that devestating fire, I sent 13 smoke detectors along with extra batteries to the Greenville Fire Dept.
I didn't expect a "Key to the City," but I DID think the Fire Chief would send a "Thank You" note.

How do you know if the chief ever received them? Maybe they went to someone else in public safety?

You must be a nobody. but if our mayor, or someone special would have done it it would be recognized.

Thanks Senior Chief. I'm speaking for myself here. You should have sent those to the Graham Fire Dept. The Fire was in a area Called Depoy, not Greenville. No one gets any recognition here unless things are paid for by Felix Martin Funds or someone in the Schools spearheads something. Lots of locals with an official title like to pat themselves on their back and remind them of how great and saintly they are. Next time find a Small Church in the community and make the donation. That is all I recommend. Also, Senior Chief, Thanks for your service to our great nation.
