Looks like they may be in some trouble. You know maybe if the women on that floor wasn't so concerned with gossiping and worry over who went to smoke it may not be so bad. But I use to work there a couple years ago and that's ALL those women do! There's a couple supervisors that fed into the gossip bull crap as well. Maybe the CEO should consider his staff on that floor! Here's a tip for ya girls, worry about yourself and see how much better it goes! That place has gone down over the last couple of years!

It was in the paper this week, effective Feb 27th Medicare will no longer pay for their services. If you have Medicare and receive treatment there your insurance will not pay. Please let the elderly know. Some of them have a hard time making ends meet as it is now.

They will pay if Medicare accepts the corrections that were applied. Quit scaring the public about something you know nothing about. Nothing happened on the nursing floor. You are stupid stupid stupid!!

I am not stupid!! I NEVER said anything about the nursing floor. I have no idea what you are talking about!! I am merely stateing what was printed in the Leader News on page A-7. I am not trying to scare anyone! I am merely worried about the elderly that can barely make it now. You obviously are the stupid one, because evidently they are accused of something happening on the nursing floor or YOU wouldnt have brought it up. So who is the stupid one. You are very rude and i certainly hope you are not a nurse with an attitude like that. Blame Leader News for the scare!!

I don't think the problems MCH are facing are just there. It's seems to be US wide. I saw on television earlier that Seattle Grace seems to be in the same shape and on the verge of closing as well.

From working there previously, I'd guess this is Sharon the lovely and friendly house supervisor!!! YEAH RIGHT! She is one of the worse to gossip and be 2-face. How she got a supervising position a lot will never know!

I dont know. It is in Greenville paper on A-7. It just says that they will not pay on for medicare services effective Feb 27th because the hospital is not incompliance with the following conditions of coverage: 42CFR 482.13 Patients' rights 42 Cfr 482:23 Nursing Services. I hope people understand i never said anything about nurses nor bad mouthed the hospital in my previous statements. I have been accused of being STUPID and producing scare tactics. I only felt people should know as to protect their elderly family and friends. They have hard times already. They certainly dont need a lot of health bills not covered by their insurance. That other person became irate as i mentioned this. Must be something or she would not have clicked like she did!

And this is the same mismanaged and terribly staffed hospital that they wanted to use our tax money to run just a few years ago. Glad that never went through even though were still in a mess with Obamacare.

How can the hospital update facilities and pay for a better staff when people refuse to pay their bills, insurance companies reduce payments yearly even though costs are rising, and the public doesn't even bring the hospital tax to a vote? Hospitals, like any business, need money to operate.

Are you being sarcastic or serious here? I hope you are joking.

If not, do you even understand how businesses work? If people like your product or services demand more of them by visiting and paying for your services or goods. That is called capitalism. Forcing the public to prop up a failing business through force of taxation is socialism. Lets watch what public run health care does to insurance costs when Obamacare lands on us.

um... actually YOU are incorrect. MCH is located in Muhlenberg county Ky. The majority of Muhlenberg countians voted for Mitt Romney. Also Mitt Romney took Ky. So, with that being said, WE did not.

So what you're saying is many people don't like MCH's products or services, and even though they use the hospital, they refuse to pay because the service is poor? That's a foolish way of thinking. There are so many junkies that frequent the ER that never pay. Insurance companies and Medicare are cutting payouts because they are unhappy with the performance of hospitals in America? You might wanna rethink your argument. Some people can't pay their hospital bills. If you go talk to some people in the business office at MCH, you'll find a lot of people that can pay just refuse.
There are a great many businesses that are "propped up" through tax money. And unlike for profit businesses that must have a good product to survive, that's not always true for non profit organizations, like MCH.

When hospitals write off owed payments they get government funding to make up for the loss or it can be used as a tax write off. Medicare not paying for services isn't the big issue. They are the lowest payer of any insurance. The problem with MCH is that they aren't a good hospital. When a person goes to the ER multiple times in a short period and they are sent home being told nothing is wrong only to be admitted 48 hrs later for something that has gotten so bad they transfer that patient to another hospital. When something like this could be avoided if they would have just done their job in the ER. Alot of the Drs in the county won't send their patients there! What's that saying about "our" hospital?

Im guessing you didnt read my post before replying. Im saying that because the services are poor, people are NOT using MCH for services. Beds are empty all the time and foul ups are common. People that have decent insurance and can afford to go somewhere there are qualified specialists in house do. Every hospital and business deals with junkies and people who try not to pay bills. So sounds like they have a accounts receivable dept problem if they are failing to collect.

NOW, if you are wanting to argue that medicaid and medicare are failed programs, i agree. Unfortunately people who supported Obama and his Obamacare thought it was going to all unicorns and lollipops and everyone was going to get free healthcare without any downsides. Now we see, its going to mean tougher performance standards, understaffed hospitals, underpaid staff which will mean doors closing at MCH.

Lastly, a little lesson on "non-profits" so you dont get confused in the future. That word simply means that a business does not have investors that they are paying dividends. It does not mean that it is, in any way, OK for the business to loose money. That is called a failing business model. Successful non-profits all over the world make all kinds of "profits". That money has to be put back into the business in the form of improvements or added services instead of paid to investors. I know its tough
