It would not surprise me one bit if it was called off. Rains comin so that might be all it takes to send us home. I'm with cRazy. Don't try and defend ignorance and stupidity with safety.

Okay CrAzy: let's hear your theory on what McCarty and the board have to gain by missing more days of school than necessary if you refuse to believe safety was a concern.
. You think they're using the free time to search for Dale Todd's Buried Treasure or something? You think they 're pocketing all the poptarts that kids would have ate for breakfast or something? Let's hear your grand conspiracy theory and include some motive or else you're just another sore loser or complainer who would have been complaining that schools weren't out if they had sent kids back.

Staff got an email from Mr McCarraher yesterday explaining make up days. No minutes will be added to the school day. No relief days from the state. Everything is added to the end of the year which means June 9th the last day for teachers. Because of the board members we were only able to bank one day this year......My question is why not go all or some of spring break? That's what most other districts are doing.

We don't need a break from school in a few weeks, we have been out all of January. I feel like the majority of parents would rather go spring break rather than that late in June. Most people go on vacation in June and not spring break except teachers and the superintendent. But no one asks us what we wanted. Mr McCarty and the board members went ahead and did what they wanted without surveying us or even asking parents what they would like to see done. But honestly I'm not surprised when you look back over the last year and remember some crazy decisions this board has made and don't even get me started on snow route usage. Or lack thereof.

Mr Superintendent,
Thank you for the survey you sent out to school staff just a couple minutes ago with two options for make up days. I have two questions.

The two options you provided are to add mins to the day or add days to end of year which means we are out June 6th.
1. Why is the option to have school on spring break not an option? Many would chose to use that week or at least a few days that week. Do you and principals have vacation plans that week?

2. Why is the survey just to school staff and not going out to parents? We have what 800 employees and over 5000 parents. Seems like parents would want some input as well but do you not respect their opinions?

Start doing what's best for our kids and the district and if you solicit input ask all parties. Learn to lead.

Got both thank you. Sorry if someone hit a nerve but very good points made by teacher parent. Parents opinions should count.

I'd like that option too. Many other school districts are at least taking some of spring break. I think our district is adding minutes.

Well that's not what parents want. It's all about teachers instead of our kids. Your the one we shouldn't tolerate.

It should be kids first and not employees or parents. However parents vote for board members, board members select school leaders so if you don't keep parents happy guess what? New board members and new leadership. Watch and see!!!!!
