The location given is the location of the ISP. People with ATT DSL usually contact through Oboro, Benton, etc. Comcast usually in CC. It doesn't mean a person is located in those places.
When a user name has United States for the IP, does that mean a cell phone, cable or VPN?

A couple years ago there was a proposal to increase property taxes to raise money for the hospital to buy new equipment, upgrade, expand, etc. That vote never even happened. Tommy Watkins had the balls to make a motion for it to go to a vote and got no second because the @&#$()@$ were too scared of losing votes. At least Tommy tried to help MCH which helps keep and/or create jobs. As for KU and TVA, you can thank the EPA.
Please tell us how the mayor of Greenville, whomever is in office, can bring numerous high paying jobs to our area. If you know how then please run for office. The president can't bring manufacturing back to our country, how would a local mayor? And because we have a 9.2% unemployment rate we therefore shouldn't have entertainment because that distracts us from a problem we should be focused on even though there is no solution.... wow you need to put down the pipe.
You said - Can you honestly say that you would not rather have seen the time, and energy spent on solving real problems? You speak as though if our officials had focused more on how to create high paying jobs and less on town improvement, we wouldn't be going in a downward spiral as you put it. Do you actually believe that? Seriously? Do you know anything about economics? Because a problem that can't be solved wasn't the focus 24/7, other issues shouldn't be addressed? Geez.
Actually like eddie think he has done a good job. However if more focus was put on the employment by all the local city and county to see what more can be done to recruit business here I suspect they could find improvements.

I have no interest in running for office, however; I do feel those who have an interest need to be prepared to do what is best for the people they have asked to serve.

Nobody said the solutions are easy, I do think that with your attitude which is obviously to surrender and do nothing is very interesting. I do have my advanced degree in economics from a big 10 college, thank you very much.

I really can't help someone who's thought process is we can't solve the problem so we will just forget about that and worry about something else. Sad SAd SAD!

You have no common sense, you disagree with various studies, you apparently haven't been to any concerts in Gville if you believe you'll smell pot smoke.
I seriously doubt you make more than I do. But it's the internet, we're all millionaires right?
Are you actually as stupid as you come across on this site? IF you had the comprehension level of an 8 year old you could read and see that he never said there was pot smoking going on at the concerts in Greenville, honestly you need to let an adult read the post and explain it to you, clearly it went way way over your head! You have got to be acting stupid intentionally because if you aren't I have to wonder how you tie you're shoes of a morning.

Shhhhh don't tell them I am in the area for business for a few days and jerking the village idiots chains! Don't let them know it takes just a few minutes to read old post's and know the local hot buttons.

Have to say you have some real winners on this one!

By the way rome and I are not the same person, he works with us and has a similar sense of humor.

So don't mess up our fun just because you actually have a brain!!!!

Gotta say Mayor DeArmond did a great job. Thankless job. I'm sure there is more anyone could have done and he probably had some things he wished he would have accomplished. All in all I would say he and most will look back and say GREAT JOB. The improvements have are obvious!

The only one I will vote for is Raymond Walker. They know that info is false about August because they wouldn't allow 'ol Raymond to run again this time when he tried to register. He's the real deal. The others are the same local elitist type of people that its always been. Vote Raymond Walker next round if they don't box him out again. Then you will have someone who represents the common man in our little town!

To compare Greenville to the fall of the Roman Empire is a little nutty to say the least. In all the years the concerts have been taking place, has there been robbing, looting, pillaging and raping going on behind our backs that's not being reported? I did hear that hundreds of teenagers show up each week to socialize, court and stay away from drugs and out of trouble.
As for improvements, you would have to be a blind person not to see the improvements that have taken place in downtown Greenville the last few years. We've only lived here for 25 years and Greenville is one of the prettiest towns we've ever seen.
KUDOS to all who have made this a beautiful and thriving city!!!!
Maybe you should drive your self out side the city limits for a minute or two. Head out toward drakesboro, browder, graham or cleaton. They tax the hell out of individuals and businesses and then spend it on the golden city while the rest of the county rots. Most homes are beyond aging. Current unemployment is at 10%. Higher than any surrounding county, and we burning through our coal severance tax like there is no tomorrow. City residents wouldn't know it, but people live outside of the courthouse square.

Who taxes the hell out of individuals and businesses and then spends the money on Greenville? What do the aging homes have to do with how tax money is spent? Current unemployment is 10% where, in Greenville specifically or Muhl Co as a whole? Muhl Co in Jan 2014 was @ 10% but I'm not sure how that relates to the job of Greenville mayor. And unemployment stats are not actually the % of people unemployed. The rate is an estimate and shows a trend rather than the actual number of people without jobs. Also unemployment rates only consider people that have actively been seeking employment within the past 4 weeks. There could be more people in Muhl Co actively seeking employment than in surrounding counties which would make the unemployment sampling higher.

Updating our county is a nice thing to do but it brings NO employment to us. I cannot figure out for the life of me why we are spending money like there is no tomorrow but it does nothing except beautify. Yes, we like to look nice but there has to be an end to window dressing. I see where Central City is starting another $1 million project too. Wake up people. NO jobs means people have to leave here to find them. Who is going to live here? Young people have to leave here to find a decent job so that leaves old folks. Old folks don't pay into the tax base that much. We cannot pull a bunny out of a hat here. Who is going to support all this?

Since Greenville is the county seat then Greenville represents the county, right? We should be using our resources trying to bring jobs into this county while we still have one to represent. Old Man River you have some common sense.
