I guess they 'll try to put the locals out of business. That seems to be what they are best at doing.

Wal-Mart selling beer shouldn't have a huge impact on other beer retailers in C.C. Who wants to walk all the way to the back of Wal-Mart to pick up a case of beer and take it to the check-out to pay for it while trying to dodge their preacher, mother-in-law, probation/parole officer or whoever else is at Wal-Mart looking into your cart to see what you've purchased? I'm not saying it won't sell some beer but I don't think its going to put anyone out of business.

All of the people that buy beer/liquor now a days that have to dodge people so they don't see it go out of town to get it!! And wal-mart is all about getting everything you need in one location. So that's why the beer was added!!

Well, i will say this. They have the idea of selling things cheaper and sell more of them. I mean, go other places and comapare prices. I mean, they aren't the largest retailer in the world for nothing!

I totally agree and at Wal-Mart watch out for falling prices. I wonder if I could go there and buy rolling papers too when I get my beer?

walmart selling beer?? wow, maybe Muhlenberg is starting to make advancements. In my opinion, they should have been selling it when the city first went wet.

walmart putting local's outta business? let me say firstly that I have neve worked for the company. and I know lots of people see wal mart as this horrible monster. and yes, Walmart has caused some 'mom and pop' type shops to close. HOWEVER, economically speaking wally world has provided many more jobs in Muhlenberg County than has taken away. And don't blame walmart for being the worlds largest employer. Blame yourself and neighbors for shopping there. If you can afford to shop at uncle lee's and the iga congrats!! Most people have to shop where the prices keep rolling back.. lol..

When Central first went wet people complained that walmart didnt sell beer....no people are complaining because they do. You just cant make everyone happy. Anyway like "me from muhlenberg" said you still have to go to a liquor store to get the hard stuff! And if you dont like Walmart all I can say is dont shop there.

People fear losing material things, house, money, jobs, retirement, insurance, pension. But the days of being afraid of God are over!!!Just a sad fact of a sign of the times!!

Look around society proves it over and over again. Once God worshipping and God fearing people own, run and support liquor stores all over the country. The only people who have nothing to fear are the wealthy anyway. Therefore, they can be outspoken about not supporting something anyway. Just living in modern times.

haha, lmfao!! I seriously doubt if wal-mart is worried about you not shopping there anymore! If they were they wouldn't have started selling beer! And I wasn't aware that wal-mart selling beer was a sign of the times!! I figure that the people stating they have "Religion" and that if wal-mart sells beer they will blow the place up would be a good sign of the times!

I am proud of Brent Midkiff"the store manager"of Wal mart of making this happen. Its a bussiness and I think it is a smart bussiness move to sell beer no matter how many "Bible Thumpers" bitch and cry about it, but they have no other choice but to go to wal mart so get with the times or just keep your face in that bible while I will live my life to the fullest.Good job Brent you are a good store manager.

I love it,its a 1 stop shop now.I can't believe in 2010 someone hates that wal mart(the largest retail store in the world)sells beer. What is wrong with it?They sell Cigs, blunts, rolling papers so which is wrong? beer which is legal or papers for weed that is not legal. But you can walk towards the front and get a bible and walk your a$$ right out the door and not come back "buger boy"
