I believe there has only been two cases known of someone with a legally owned full auto "machine gun" ever committing a crime with it since 1986 when they became somewhat restricted.
What POS commie, gun grabbing President would sign into Law making such restrictions and violating our 2nd Amendment Rights??????????

You'll be aware that our Prime Minister is a Conservative then? You'll also be aware that we have the fastest growing economy in the West with a projected trade deficit of zero by 2016.

We're the fourth largest economy in the world with a landmass which can be drvien across at the widest point in 4 hours. The London gold pool is where the US dumps its bullion in an attempt to manipulate the market while begging the European powers to pretend it was them dumping it, then they get very affronted when people start buying gold in Euro's and throw their teddy out of the crib.

The gold in Fort Knox has gone, it may still be there but the title is held by the Rest of The World Inc. Gold swaps have killed your reserve, the world owns you!

When was the last time in the last few decades that there was an invasion in Europe? Please do tell, I appear to have missed it. Serving for 17 years in the Army I'm fairly sure they would have let me know.

I say again, firearms have killed more people in the United States than all of the wars in American history, it is an undisputable FACT!

Handguns are illegal here and our score was 44 deaths by gun last year.

You; 8775 deaths by gun last year.

Even if we had five times the population our number would still be 220. You can deny it as much as you like but you'll only look even more foolish...if that were possible.

Well here's your giant error, the 'highly socialised' countries to which you refer are no more socialised that the UK. We are all members of the EU and we can travel and live and work and do business in any of the 27 EU member states. The only difference between us and them is that we didn't join the Euro and we left the Exchange Rate mechanism after about 6 hours.

The Republic of Ireland was supposed to be the tiger economy of Europe, the UK owns it now simply because of the Euro.

We've had terrorist attacks in our country since the 1960s funded by the populations of Boston, Chicago and dare I say it New York because their grandfather petted an Irish wolfhound once so they must be Irish and have to send some money to the brave patriots back home, I used to have to check my car every morning for surprises from the brave Irish patriots.

The odd muslim setting fire to his gun cotton underpants is rather like par for the course.
The 7/7 bombings resulted in a restoration of funding for our security services and it hasn't happened again. We do not have places like Deerborn Michigan where non Muslims cannot live, there is no such thing as a 'muslim area' here.

You have to get it into perspective, you/we bombed Afghanistan back to the stone age because it was a breeding ground for terrorists but I didn't see the same effort going into bombing the shlT out of Lockport NY, where timothy McVey was bred. You only unleashed the beast on Afghanistan because the people were 'not like us'.

All people are law abiding until they break the law, give a person the means to project deadly force on an industrial scale with his m4 derived 'hunting' rifle then they feel much more confident in their criminal endeavours.

Culture kills even more efficiently when it has easy access to firearms.

I can only imagine the motto of your alma mater, does it go something like this?

....well thats a huge portion of word salad...including 'banning muslims', Hiter, street bombings, and big government. We're talking about the GLARING OBVIOUSNESS in the reason for the rate of US GUN DEATH BEING TWO HUNDRED TIMES HIGHER THAN THE UK.
I carried an automatic weapon for many years on duty in the UK, and you feel like the tallest man in the room....for about a week, then it gets like a cold lump which you have to carry wherever you go, then the winter comes and it gets colder and heavier. You have to pass your weapons qual every three months, if you fail it's an embarassment, you feel like a target. It's a chore and a responsibility.
In the UK you are more likely to be shot by a police officer than a 'criminal' the chances of being murdered by gun are less than a million to one.
Guns are AVAILABLE in the US, they are everywhere, they can be moved accrosss state lines regardless of how strict the resident state is when it comes to firearms. Need a gun, no questions asked? Go to a gun show in Georgia.
The people who perpetrate mass murders, kill classrooms full of kids, lose their jobs and go to their former workplace and 'go postal' are the 'law abiding decent citizens' who are fine one day and go over the edge the next.
These are the 'good citizens' who murder cheating spouses, bad stockbrokers and business rivals.
Criminals kill eachother, narcotics dealers kill one another also the gangs.
The mass murders and the bulk of murders of the innocent and law abiding are carried out by the 'innocent and law abiding' who have no continous phsychometric/psychological monitoring or even mandatory firearms training, these are the folks who need to have their guns taken away, let the gangs and criminals kill eachother by natural wastage.
The US is no longer a widerness frontier, stop behaving like it is one.
You feel the US is the greatest country in the world simply because you live there, just like Finland, or Sweden, or Germany to their natives....you're a large country which is owned by the Rest of The World Inc.
My wife and our daughter passed through Newark NJ, airport recently and my daughter noticed that even the rubbish bins(garbage cans) had the US flag on them, my daughter pipes up..."do you think its so they can remember where they live?".
Comments on "gun violence" from across the pond?

Really? Tell me why that should interest you please?(I have seen many pseudo intellectuals hide behind proxies and random locations before).
If however you actually reside "across the pond", you know that definitions of violent crime are very different here. The least comparable average between U.S. and you (folk), says you have twice the violent crime rate we have here...criminals simply utilize any tool/weapon they can improvise. Take guns from Americans and our crime rate would double also! We have a God given right to defend our own life (and families). When multiple attackers threaten you and your family how will you respond? Will you give them a full blooded swing from your cricket stick? I will stick to my guns.

Oh come on it's the world wide web, I'm interested in everything.

My interest is that I find the US right wing entertaining from a comedic point of view, I find their inability and unwillingness to even consider that there is a glaring correlation between the availability of handguns and gun crime in the US to be hilarious.

If a bus filled with senior citizens on the way to the casino is decimated by old Mrs Schwarz and her saturday night special, the NRA would press for the mandatory arming of bus drivers.

If a bus driver shot his entire load of passengers they'd call for people to ensure they themselves were armed when they got on a bus for fear of crazed drivers.

No matter what the question the gun is the only answer.

This obsession with location baffles me somewhat, why would anyone on an anonymous forum hide or care about the location of a poster to whom they are simply communicating in text. Proxyfication is so pointless.

I have been asked this before and here is the response I prepared for them

http://tinyurl.com/oxd89o6

this is an audio file, if you're at work turn down your speakers or don't bother.

and this....http://imgur.com/LwZES iL

so there we are....I'm fairly sure that still won't be enough proof for the most paranoid of the nutty fruitbats of the ultra-right who have a deep mistrust....of EVERYTHING LOL.

I am assuredly in the UK.

Our crime figures are different to yours for a basic reason. Our systems of justice are different, we have the 'crime control' model, you have the 'due process' model. Defendents in the UK can not 'plead out' to a lesser charge so we are always going to appear to be more violent that you are on paper. However the comparison is artificial for the reason I have just explained.

You have a god given right to defend your families with guns? I'd be interested to see that particular dead sea scroll. I live in a small Welsh village and I don't lock my doors most evenings, I'm not worried about the impending eventuality of defending my family from multiple attakers...we do get the odd stray sheep in the garden some nights....but other than that it's quite benign.
