What about that Leader News article on Adcock's resignation? I'm shocked that one of there own board members flu the coop and now is telling things like it is. My God this current board is so corrupt that no telling what's going to happen to our kids. All that taxpayer money blown and little spent on kids. Superintendent Don should waste his own money not taxpayer dollars.
It's just as much about "power" as about money. Remember Richey ran for judge executive not long ago, didn't make that, so he tried for school board! Sadly, he got that.

Yeah Don's nothing but an adult bully. He's not good for the schools being so power hungry. Nobody likes him or speaks good about him.

Yes Don is running things for sure. I talked to one person very close to this board and they said if anyone challenges Don he threatens their job or try's to intimidate them in some manner. He's always been that way. Wants to feel important and powerful but people are about to start speaking up and show how the four board members are in this together and do have agendas.
I don't think Don wants his skeletons revealed but it sounds like that closet door might be opening soon. The other three, Tartar, Williams, and Bowers are just puppets who can't think for themselves. But McCarty is the biggest puppet of all. I can't blame Adcock for leaving because this board is going down in history as being the most political, agenda driven school boards of all time. They can't hold a candle to previous boards and what they have accomplished for this county. But this board is big time gambling (like Tartar) with our children's future.
It is really a shame that so much lies in the hands of one person, and that the person has an agenda is beyond shame. I know for sure why people will not challenge him...they don't want to lose their jobs! I don't blame Adcock for leaving either...it must have been so frustrating to be voted down on everything or having the only vote for others. Why isn't there some sort of accountability for this board? I don't understand that.

I heard a funny one yesterday about board member Bowers. When the board interviewed for superintendent last fall there was an outside applicant they interviewed from Kenton County who had an educational doctorate. So Bowers seen his name at the interview Dr so and so and said I've got one question for you. Why do you want to stop being a medical doctor and come to Muhl Co to be a superintendent? Someone please tell me this is not true. If so is this an example of who is making educational decisions for our children?

Oh no...for goodness sake, I hope this is not true, but I have a funny feeling it is. My mission right now is to find out to whom the board is accountable. I would think it would be the community, but how does that work?

So there going to spend thousands of dollars to build ballparks at Bremen. Doesn't Little League play at west now or shortly? I guess Don is going to try and get some more tax money spent at Bremen. I'd say the money could be spent more wisely especially when some kids go hungry in the county.

Yes, in today's local paper, there is an article about the purchasing approvals by the board at the last meeting. It seems a new ball field at Bremen is going to cost approximately $300,000. Isn't that just a little bit high? Who is building the field? I bet they are kin to someone on the board! Also, I remember a time when athletic boosters (parents) had fundraisers for things like uniforms, new fields, seating, etc....when did the board become involved? Shouldn't the academic expectations be met before athletic endeavors? For $300,000, several new teachers could be hired to reduce student-teacher ration. That's just one thing I can think of that would benefit all students, not just the athletes.

Don't think so memo. Can't be slanderous if the remarks are true. Too many people in this county talking about actions of this board. Sad but true.

These complaints, though maybe valid to the people complaining, have missed the overspending and special treatments that occurred in the past regime. Instead of all the complaining, why don't some of you volunteer at the schools and not complain from your computer or other electronic device. I see other communities on this forum and most are positive and not this negative stuff that is on this site. Get involved and be a positive influence.

Much progress was made with the last regime and a lot of tough decisions most which has proven to be good ones. I have to say money spent in the past seemed to center around kids. The previous board did not try and run people off or mistreat them. Most people I've spoke to thinks this board is clueless. My husband mentors so we are for helping kids.

Well don't go to Don Richie or McCarty. They will tell you they don't have any authority like they did Mr Dukes and the inappropriate book the high school uses.

You can't count on anyone anymore! I have several young nieces and nephews. I PRAY for a way for them to be homeschooled! I don't wanna have to see them suffer at the hands of selfish, incompetent morons!

Did you read the Glass Castle? I did. It was one of the best books I've read in recent years. The pornography Mr. Dukes is fixated on doesn't exist. I don't think he even read it because after listening to him talk about it, it doesn't seem like we have read the same book. Get informed. Read it and make an educated decision for yourself.

Their motives are centered around adults not kids so don't go to them for help.
That is so untrue. McCarty is and always has been a child advocate and has nothing but their future in his heart and mind. This admin has only had a few months in. Give him a chance to put into place some much needed programs for the students. I'm sure it won't help to be mean and critical. Please be supportive.

Is there some sort of financial statement that could be read concerning the expenditures of this administration? I would love to see how it balances between expenses for athletics and academics (not counting teacher and administrative salaries, of course).

Also, it has been a year...not just a few months.

Yeah, use the Freendim of Information Act to your advantage. File an Open Records Reqest and ask for what you like. Templates on the internet. Wanna know? It's your right to ask!

Yeah Freeman was told to pull his name out and he would be given Carver's job for a year. Then when Reynolds leaves next year he will move to that spot. It's all already been determined. Watch and see.
