I absolutely hate to call the board and ask anything. Those receptionists especially the one named Cathy are so short and rude. I called a few weeks back when bad weather hit and she was a big smart butt. And that's not the first time it's happened either. They need a lesson in being polite to the public. After all it's our tax dollars that pay their salaries and if it was my job to answer the phone I'd try and be a tad bit nicer.

Why did you call in the first place. What if all the parents of the 5272 students called to check on the weather?

Parents have told me the same thing. No reason to be rude. It is a reflection on the entire district.

If 5272 parents called than I would think they should be treated with respect.

I needed to know who makes the decision that certain buses do not come out roads they normally do. My aunt called and wanted to know if we were going home early because there is no adult at home. They won't let you talk to people in charge and seem to get angry and rude when you ask questions they can't answer.

They must not think about parents who have to make special arrangements when buses don't come out your road or when they dismiss early. There is just no reason to be so uncooperative and disrespectful.

Do you really think teachers and school administrators have time for your non-sense? It's not my job or any other teacher to take up your responsibilities as a parent!

Non-sense? Since when is calling the board and asking if my child's bus is coming out my road or if school is dismissing early, or who can I talk to in order to get these answers considered NON-SENSE?

And no thank you. I'll raise my own children. Why don't you concentrate on doing a better job of teaching instead of judging me and others as parents. But when I have questions about when my child will be home or if the bus will be traveling down my road I do expect answers and to be treated respectfully from the high all-mighty board of education superintendent and those answering the phones.

Seems like some one has an attitude. School administrators and teachers could accomplish a lot more if SOME parent's would act more like adults than children!

Yes and it sounds like my concerns may have hit a nerve or two. You call yourself a teacher so you worry about doing the job my taxes pay for,(teaching children) and don't worry so much about the parents. Don't blame parents or look for an excuse for failing to do your job effectively.

There's no excuse for being rude so I understand. I sure wish I could get a job w/the school system. I've tried for yrs and it seems the only way you get in is if you know someone who's already an employee.

Well no one considers me a failure but I probably would have if I had a teacher like you. You are such a credit to the profession. Actually classless.

Thank you Cathy for proving my point about your rudeness and language. I guess part of your job is to keep your bosses from talking directly to parents who have questions. I guess they got better things to do like surfing the internet or drinking their coffee. I like how you advise me to call the bus garage. Passing the buck huh? I wasn't aware they were in charge of the district. Maybe you should strive for a job there that seems more important. I'll pass on your advise thank you. I plan this to be my last post but my board member needs to hear this complaint. Likely that will fall on deaf ears as well. I strive for only one thing. To treat parents respectfully who call with questions about their child.
No favors, no lies, no pitty, no drama. Simply respect. Case closed.

Yes. I make more than double what teachers make but I respect the profession if teachers are committed to their jobs.

The employees out there are all rude. Wonder why? Something needs to be done. She's the worst.
