I am curious. Does anyone else think its kinda weird that we have this HUGE zombie walk downtown where everyone dresses up as a dead person? I understand dressing up for halloween. But, kids dressing up as dead people? I'm sorry but I would never let my son dress up as a dead person. I do not think its right. I also do not think kids should be exposed to this. Yes you can tell your kids its all pretent but its like everything thinks it okay to walk around like your dead. I just do not agree with it. kids that are 2,3,4,5 really think are to young!!! It gets all these crazy visions in their head. I just think it could mess up a kid.

Now, don't say well what about halloween..Well do you see a bunch of kids dressing up a dead people for halloween? That would be a NO. They just up as characters or animals. Whatever.

I just think the Zombie walk is wrong. What like some other opinions.

How the hell would you know what kind of visions other people are having in their heads?

Let me explain myself a litle better. I mean it could put visions in kids heads. Just like when kids watch a scary movie most of the time they have nightmares. I'm just saying it could.

I have a 4 year old and I would not take her to this. I just don't think its okay.

What pisses me off is its okay to have a DEAD ZOMBIE WALK DOWNTOWN where everyone acts dead and crazy but its not okay to have halloween on a sunday..

But, i'm sure god thinks its just fine but this... I don't think so... There is just stuff that kids should not be around or exposed to!

I used to love Halloween but now kids have to trick or treat in daylight..what's up with that??? Halloween used to be a fun holiday.
I saw last year's zombie walk, basically a step from satanism. It was very ungodly. This is a free country and they have every right to have the zombie walk, it's just with all the positive stuff happening during the year in Greenville...well it's a negative. Unless you like Satan I guess.

It's your choice if you don't like it, or you think it is wrong for your child don't go. Let the rest of us enjoy Halloween and have a little fun!

It's great that Greenville has this pagan ritual. How else can the evil spirits be removed from the streets? The day is set aside for all to dress up in costume to scar the spirits and/or to make the ghost and undead believe that this area is already taken. Where Greenville fails however, is they do not have the required human sacrifice.

Well if you look at it this way it's a good thing because they are actually raising money for children. There not trying to freak kids out. There just trying to make a fun family event to help raise money. If you don't like the idea then don't go. I went last year and I didn't see any kids freaking out, they was all having a good time.

The zombie walk is alright but the county trying to tell people when they can tricker treat is just wrong. Especially trying to make them do it early in the afternoon or on the day before even. They actually think people are gonna do that? Lol

this is the only place that I've ever lived that is so control freakish as to dictate when where and what time kids are allowed to "trick or treat"

everyone else in the USA will celebrate Halloween on Oct 31st. Greenville: Oct. 27th between 5-7

It's a free event, but they are accepting donations for the Muhlenberg County Children's Fund. Organizers are hoping to double what they made last year.

You know, when I was a kid(long ago, lol) from Greenville... Muhlenberg County hospital saved my life. I got to give back on this one. Never even heard of this event untill last week, but I'll be bringing MY kids. I bet this is going to be good!

It's an event sponsored by a private business (Costume Store) that benefits the Children's Fund here in Muhlenberg County. So stop making a big deal out of something you've dreamed up. Or better yet, you naysayers can keep your ass at home and let others enjoy helping others. It's not the only city that has a Zombie Walk.

There is no right or wrong to the zombie walk, it is harmless fun! I see kids running around as devils and dead things at Halloween all the time. If you don't like the Zombie walk then shut your mouth and don't go to it. Our community is growing and becoming more involved with events like the zombie walk. It's fun for everyone and gives us a chance to be something else for a night. The people who put this on are very dedicated in making sure everyone has a safe and fun time too. If you don't like it, don't complain about it and don't go to it. We don't need the your pitiful negativity.
By the way, learn to spell. It just makes you look even more unintelligent.

Some people like zombies. If it's not your thing then don't participate.

Kinda hard when its downtown and they block it off and you can't even go that way without seeing dead people. I just don't understand why any parent would want their child to dress up as a dead zombie. You keep on saying if you don't like then don't participate. Trust me i'm not. But, Greenville freaking pisses me off! Why can't we have halloween on halloween. I mean gosh.. I don't wanna have halloween when its not even halloween yet. Its not right. Do you want someone to tell you when to celebrate your other holidays or would you like to celebrate xmas a couple days before? the only reason they do it is because it is halloween. but they can have this dang zombie walk.. its dumb.

lets all walk around dead and act crazy but lets celebrate halloween 4 days before the actual holiday..

And Iknow the zombie walk is charaity thats good but do something else!!! And to be honest if you did something else instead of having kids dress up as dead people I bet you would even raise more money and even MORE people would come!:)
just a thought

This is ridiculous to be so negative on an event that brings the community together to have some fun and raise money for kids that are in need. Nobody has a gun to their head to attend. The organizers work very hard all year to make it a success. If you don't approve, then organize an equally successful event or keep your attitude to yourself.

I wonder how many of you would be so supportive if it was a gay pride march around the square in support of the Children's Fund? Even the Hells Angels have done bike rides to raise money for children's funds and such...you gonna support the Hells Angels too?

The original poster asked for opinions. I gave mine. I also said they have every right to have the zombie walk. If people don't wanna participate it's ok, no one is forcing them. If they don't wanna see it and need to travel through Greenville, take a side street. You people are just quick to bash opinions that are not your own. But that's what liberals do, and that's all you'll find at a zombie walk. It's not a Christian event.
