Really this team is a joke, they are only winning because they are playing horrible teams, worst than them. They couldn't play good teams. Lets get excited about that one. How sad!

Obviously you don't know football. I have been to every game this year and they are a completely different team than they were last year.

Any coach needs at least 3 years to build a program. Coach Standiford is in his 3rd season and they are 4-2. When was the last time the football team has had this record? Your response is to fire him? Doesn't make a lot of sense if you ask me.

Anyone that says these coaches need firing is a complete idiot. This is a good group of coaches that have worked their asses off with these kids and finally, the hard work is paying off. To even whisper they should be fired is just stupid. I can't wait until my son has the chance to play for them.

Our head coach will be gone. He is on the board members hit list. The new superintendent wants Hayes Browning. He's good friends with him and the family. They want even look anywhere else for a real experienced quality coach. Don't matter how good the team is doing. Head man is gone. Browning's in. Mark it down and take a seat.

He's an assistant coach for the mustangs but has close ties to Board members and especially Supt McCarty. I'd guess this assumption has merit.

Coach Browning is a damn good guy and a hell of a coach, I wish he would've been our coach all of my 4 years of playing Varsity football. He's knows what he's do, obviously, since he's helped coach a STATE CHAMPION football team. Try yo actually talk about some shit you have knowledge about

Hayes Browning is the new coach. McCarty bragged about going to hire the most qualified coach. Had 17 applicants so it sounds like this was a done deal from the start. I would say there were more experienced and qualified coaches from that 17. Just like there were better supt candidates than McCarty.

Looks like we got the ole buddy system in full swing again and everything is about Greenville. Best of luck to Hayes but until the people in charge start hiring the best and not just their friends from this county the schools and teams are doomed to fail.

Oh yeah, people knocking the door down for the job.. Not! Hays has coached and been successful at some of the top football schools in the state. Not to mention has a State Championship ring.. Yes, you heard me correctly a State Championship ring. He was a great hire. Please answer me this: why would any proven coach want to come to MC and coach??

The first reason someone would want to come to MC and try and turn this thing around is the challenge to do so. Coaches are just as if not more competitive than the players, and love challenges.
Secondly the facilities, some of the best in the state.
That's why.

I wouldn't go so far to say that Hayes has been a successful coach. Wasn't he the coach at Webster for a season or so? Remind me how that went. For this place to turn around, they needed to clear house on the coaching staff. More Staples' tired ass offense, that's what we need. The schedule was full of cupcakes last year and this season coming up. We could have hired someone much better suited for the job, but best of luck to him. He's a great dude, but it will shock me if they improve greatly over the next few years.

Well said and I agree. I wish Hayes the best and hope he can turn it around but I don't think he proved a thing as assistant coach over the defense and Webster County was not impressive.

The point here is the superintendent knew who he was going to hire. It was a done deal and when you tell the football backers in Greenville that you are going after a top notch proven coach and it doesn't happen then the football community have little confidence anything will change. The Greenville football family are critical to success of the program because they are your major support group and I can tell you they feel like they were lied to by the head of the school district. They were expecting a house cleaning and fresh faces with a fresh start. No disrespect to Hayes and we all wish him the best but the good ole boy system want get us where we want to go.
