I have been going to Greenville for weekends and summers for the past 25 years of my life. I pay some attention to the politics of the town because I care about it so deeply and I have to say that I am ashamed that the residents of Greenville cannot acknowledge the growth that has occurred there in the past few years, DESPITE the awful economy that is plaguing our nation. For all of the naysayers that I have seen post ridiculous (not even true, and beyond slanderous and downright hurtful things) on this blog, when was the last time you did anything good for your town? I would like to know when the last time was that you actually did anything that had benefit further than the end of your own stupid nose. I believe in small town rural America and I believe that Greenville is the epitome of such a town. It is the kind of place that I hope to be able to continue to come for years and eventually bring my children there to create memories from their childhood that will last a lifetime. While it is true that I do not live there on a daily basis, I am there quite a bit. In recent years I have seen more changes in the community than I did for the first 20 years of my visits. These changes are for the better, for the good of everyone who lives there. I donít know who is responsible for it in particular but I know that those who are there right now, Dave, Lisa, and the current city council included, played a huge part in that, no matter what any of you ill-educated idiots think. When I walk down the streets of the town I am proud to know that there is a government there looking out for my future, knowing that it means something to me to be able to walk around a town square than encircles a town hall, with a theater and restaurants and shops and the old post office. I am in awe of the fact that the city leaders have been able to create jobs, bring new businesses to the area, expand and grow the town, while preserving the integrity of the simplicity that exists there. Congratulations to all of the Greenville leaders and citizens who respect where you live because without you, the significance of the town would not be so profound. For the rest of you,(and by this I refer to the negative, ill willed, unhappy no matter who is in office and what they are doing for you) good bye, go somewhere else, who needs you?
