Eaton Corporation Announces More Layoffs

Industrial parts maker Eaton Corporation has announced more layoffs for employees in one of its Nebraska plants.

Eaton's Marshall, MI used discrimination as a factor in laying off 2 employees at it's Marshall, Michigan facility. The employees (1 a white female that had won a battle with Cancer, the other a black male that had issues with blood clots from international travel). The white female's boss commented on medical on her performance review. The black male had complaned to his V.P. about race issues several times in 2008 in Marshall. That resulted in the V.P. to tell a co-worker that he wanted the guy out. Later in 2008, the black guy became ill and missed work for about 2 months. The sad part about this is that the V.P. had one of his managers call the black guy at home and fire him while he was sick in April, and bragged about this to a friend (co-worker). While Eaton appears as a "good company" these practices need to be eliminated. Exposing this will help do that and protect good employees.

We put up with the same type of bull at the Van Wert, Ohio plant. Its like you stated, they act like such an ethical company, but management in van wert all have their "favorites" and the rest of us get screwed. Certain people get jobs based not on their seniority or knowledge, its by how close they are to the boss. And they dont understand why attitudes suck in the plant. Just because the economy sucks and we cant go anywhere else for employment, they take advantage of that and treat us like crap. Way to go eaton!
