Are you happy with your current ambulance providers (Fire Department excluded) in the Butler County area?
We aren't. Word of mouth advises that there are a lot of complaints from local hospitals, and medical providers. How long should the people of Butler County wait on an ambulance to arrive after an initial 911 call? Five minutes, ten minutes...what do you think is appropriate? What about when a family member is being discharged from the hospital? Do you know that the average wait time is approximately an hour? How would you feel if your mom/dad, child, or spouse stopped breathing, and the ambulance claims that they could not find you're house after searching for fifteen minutes or so? Do you know that the brain cells start to expire after approximately five minutes? It is vitally important to regain breathing to keep the brain alive.
Yes, a lot of this responsibility is on the family. People should take the time to learn CPR, for their own safety, and the welfare of their family members. Also, people should be responsible for having E911 addresses, and have them properly marked with reflective signs so that they can be easily seen from the road.
Do you know that there are sometimes no available ambulances to take a call? How would that make you feel if you were the one with a valid emergency?
With all of this information and knowledge we believe that the people of Butler County need more reliable ambulance service. Be it a discharge from the local hospitals, or an emergency.
We also believe that an ambulance can save your life in certain situations. Isn’t it important enough for you to think about this? It could be you. People in this county should be able to have an ambulance at there dispense in an appropriate time limit, just as if they lived within a mile from a hospital. It should not matter where you live, or how much money you make. You should be able to receive proper medical care. What do you think?
How would you feel about having another ambulance company to help out the current companies with their run volume? Would you be willing to help fund one? We want to hear from you as the public. You are what is important.
