This is all I have any info would be great would like to check it out
There is a house where a little girl was supposedly murdered by her parents or housemaid around 1946. She was beaten regularly everyday until she finally died from the harsh, cruel things done to her. She was about 5 years old when she died. It is said that the house still has toys in the yard, and there are many pairs of children's shoes lined up against the wall, and there are tons of books on manners placed on the table along with dinner plates

Thank You

The grave of Mary Magdalene Pitts, a three-year old child who was cruelly murdered by her father and step-mother in 1927 and is reported to be the first documented case of child abuse, is in Riverview Cemetery, behind the Greenup County Health Department on U. S. 23, in Greenup, KY. In January of 1928, 20,000 people came from near and far to attend her funeral, and since then her gravesite has been visited by thousands of people who continuously decorate it with loving mementos. Billy Ray Cyrus, country singer and native of the area, made or is making a motion picture, As Fate Would Have It: The True Story of Mary Magdalene Pitts, with Antonio Ranieri, about the incident. Mary Magdaline Pitts was born in Menifee County, KY on June 5, 1924 to Robert Herman Pitts and Lucy Walker Wilson. Both her birth and death certificates spell her name as "MARY MAGDALINE PITTS". Her headstone reads "MARY MAGDALENE PITTS". By 1927, Robert Herman Pitts and Lucy Walker Wilson had parted ways, and he had moved to Argilite, Greenup Co., KY. He worked at ARMCO in Ashland and had taken in a "housekeeper" Marie Frazier.

Mary Magdaline Pitts lived with her father, his "housekeeper' and her brothers and sisters in a rugged cabin on Culp Creek in Greenup Co., until her death on December 29, 1927.

Many newspapers carried news of her death, described "the most shocking, blood-stirring criminal case in the history of Kentucky." Her death certificate says the cause of death "probably shock resulting from burns, bruises and cuts administered by father and housekeeper, Marie Frazier. Probably homicide." She was buried in Riverside Cemetery on Jan. 15, 1928. Her body was open for public viewing with an estimated 20,000 viewers. Local towns people financed an impressive monument for Mary Magdaline. Twice since it was erected, vandals have destroyed the angel which set on top of the monument. The most recent, in March 2004. A major restoration project was launched by Peggy Lynn Rowe, a movie produced from Los Angeles, Ca.

On November 13, 2004, the unveiling of a monument, honoring Mary Magdaline Pitts, took place at Greenbo State Park. The event began at 1 P. M. Guest speakers included Billy Ray Cyrus, Peggy Lynn Rowe and other special guests. Billy Ray Cyrus Foundation footed the bill for the monument, it will be on display at either Greenbo Lake Lodge or the Greenup County Public Library in Greenup.

This was a free event and was open to the public. Ms. Rowe has been in close contact with Barbara W. Ingram, who has researched the Pitts Family Genealogy for over forty years. Ingram' great grandfather, Anderson Pitts, was a twin brother to Mary Magdaline's grandfather, Ancil Pitts.

I have been to that house. There are no toys in the yard and no shoes lined up. It is an old house that is dangerous! That house is on private property. People should not be bothering the owners. Would you want strangers coming around your house and property?

The house the Pitts child lived and died in was up Culp Creek. It burned to the ground a few decades ago. The cause of the fire is unknown and the site the old house is now overgrown. Some of the old timers up Culp Creek can give a pretty general idea of it's location but there is more than one version of the exact spot.

the person that started this did not say they wanted to go there. they just wanted to know where it was. i do not think you two are talking about the same place but i might be mistaken.
