I agree, people that talk about Bates and Carpenter are just talking trash. The real story will make them all look stupid, like that will be hard to do. America is still a country that is governed by law, follow the law and go vote. Greenup really needs an infusion of tax dollars, so get behind whoever is making this happen and quit talking smack about the judge exec, its really petty sh**!

By the way, for all of you harping in DUI and all. It is illegal for a place to continue to serve alcohol to someone who has had enough.
Does anyone remember that accident on 23 in Russell a few years back? The DUI got drunk at Applebees and drove into Russell before crossing into oncoming traffic and killing another driver.

I remember, case in point. A driver leaves a wet county and drives home thru a dry county. This i
was a terrible situation but was it the ALCOHOLS fault??? NO it was the persons fault. Should alcohol be illegal because 1 person out of 1000's is irresponsible? NO! Jesus's first miracle was making wine, it makes a point. It shows god allows to have our own free will because it says drinking wine is not a sin, but drinking to much is, FREE WILL! To make our own decision, that why we should have a choice, and the people who got asked to speak to there church, if they've ever left church on Sunday and went to eat at the road house, cheddars, or any NICE restaurant in Ashland, they should sign IN FAVOR of this petition.

Tom, I bet you've never had a child die in an accident where a drunk driver was involved. You'll never understand that. I hope no one else ever has to.

As to Jesus, yes we have free will. It is not alcohol but the persons choice. Still, the bible does tell us to avoid temptation and tempting others. I don't think it is a sin to drink a beer. I still dont do it b/c I am tempting myself to could be causing another to be tempted.

Don't get into a debate about drinking and God. He obvisously doesnt want us drunk. The only way to avoid that is to not drink.

Same goes for getting pregnant. He doenst want unwed mothers raising children on there own. A major way to keep that from happening is to not have sex at all.

We are to avoid temptation and avoid leading others to it. I would say that covers not selling alcohol.

I appreciate your beliefs and I respect them, but it's not right or even Christian to push them on everyone else. Everyone as a Christian and an American should have the right to choose.

I agree Tom. We all have the right to choose. I just hope people choose the responsible, life saving choice. First don't drink. Then if you do please dont drive.

January 22, we will have an opportunity to voice our beliefs. Go vote for opportunity, voting for everyone to have a personal choice whether to have a drink, or not have a drink. Means your voting for people to have an opportunity to work HERE.

I live in Greenup and I'm gonna get my beer when I want it regardless. If the county is too righteous for my money then kiss my ass. Keep spending the little bit of tax revenue it does receive on failed programs like drug court. I can afford the gas it takes to get to Ironton.
